Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots Theory: Katheryn Is Dreaming (Redux)

By Jeremy Carden

Screenshot_19

Well Part 1 of Season 3 has come to an end, and it left viewers with quite a cliffhanger! Speculating about whether or not David is going to be burned alive by his own wife is going to keep fans guessing until the show makes it return.

My guess is that everyone is going to be shocked that my first blog after the finale; is a blog that is NOT about the finale.

This is a redux about a blog I wrote last July involving a very interesting plot twist about the entire show that is the Haves and the Have Nots. If you would like to read my original blog on this subject, you can do so by clicking here.

Anyone who has followed my HAHN Theory Blogs since my first one knows that my theories are a joint effort between myself and my mother.

The_Haves_and_the_Have_Nots

One night, she was randomly flipping through the channels and got to the OWN Network. The funny thing was that we were getting the channel for free because of the Dish Network specials that included free stations for about a week or so. When she got to the OWN Network, it was the first episode of the Haves and the Have Nots! After watching the show, the two of us were hooked!

dallas-4f02f71ce8a7c

With that being said, this is a theory that she came up with because my mom knows about a show called Dallas. I recall maybe watching a couple of episodes, but I was a child meaning that I can’t recall the plot and characters like my mom can.

katherynattable_zps7f0a416e

The interesting theory that my mom created is the plot of the HAHN being nothing more than a mere dream. A story depicted in the mind of none other than Katheryn Cryer!

Keep in mind that I did help pull this theory together with dialogue, scenes and hints from the show during a discussion with my mom. However, if this theory happens to be correct or this blog goes viral; my mom deserves most of the credit. Without her, I would never have thought about this enough to make a blog about it.

At this point, some of you might be ready to close out of this blog, or write this theory off as nothing more than a ridiculous post. I encourage you to continue reading before making a final decision.

If Katheryn Cryer has been dreaming the plot of the HAHN, then when does this dream start?

images (13)

That is the question many readers are probably asking at this point, and it truly is a good one. Our theory suggests that Katheryn began her dream while she was in the hospital. With all of the craziness of the show, a lot of fans may have forgotten about Katheryn’s battle with breast cancer.

Originally, I thought it might have been after she had some weed (compliments of Hanna) to help her cope with the cancer. In the long run, the hospital scenario was more believable when looking at details towards our theory.

There are a few things that need to be addressed because they are important to the overall plot of the HAHN.

ep111-own-hhn-17-592x333

  1. Katheryn’s video will

Before going into surgery, Katheryn asked Hanna to record a video of her will. She was unsure if she would make it out of the cancer surgery alive, so she asked Hanna to do her this one favor.

The will states that her husband (Jim Cryer) is not to receive a single penny of her family’s fortune. In terms of her children (Wyatt and Amanda), both are to receive $12 million. There is also information in her will for her future grandchildren. If anyone tries to fight the will; they will not receive a single dime of their money!

She then says that if her will is not found immediately after her death, her money will be donated to the Cancer Research Center of Savannah. After she is done, she tells Hanna to hold onto that video will. If something were to happen to her, Hanna was instructed to give the will to Veronica.

Screenshot_6

  1. Hanna was Katheryn’s rock

Just as the apostle Peter was named as “the rock” by Jesus, Hanna was Katheryn’s solid foundation during her time of need. Aside from the doctors, Hanna was the ONLY person that even knew that Katheryn was battling breast cancer. She even signed into Mercy Hospital under a false name!

Her “friend” Veronica and Katheryn’s family was not aware of what was going on. They were all so preoccupied with their own lives and “problems” that they did not even notice Katheryn was fighting for her life right under their noses.

As Katheryn told Hanna, Veronica is a “friend” to her in order to increase her own popularity. Veronica never seemed to listen to Katheryn’s problems or to help her out; she only came around to tell Katheryn about her own issues.

Wyatt was in rehab and fighting his own inner demons, and Amanda had her own struggles to face. Her issues stemmed from wanting to drop out of law school and go into fashion design. Being around Candace just increased her hostilities towards her parents, and Katheryn was nothing more than a “villain” in her eyes. Finally, we all know that Jim was not concerned in the least because his attention was on Candace and running for governor.

Hanna was the one who keep her going because she even tells Katheryn that if she gives up then the cancer has already won. It was great that Hanna had already gone through the cancer and survived. That meant she was the perfect person to help walk Katheryn through the illness.

Screenshot_6

  1. Katheryn tries to hold everything together

This point really takes place after her stay in the hospital and battle with cancer. It was when Hanna sat down with Katheryn and told her that Candace was her daughter. She tells Hanna that she has tried her entire life to fix problems and be the glue that held the Cryer family together. After nearly losing to cancer, she just wants to sit back and watching everything fall apart. She was tired of trying to help those who did not want help.

Jim’s new attitude towards his life mirrors that of Katheryn at this point because in recent episodes, he says that he is tired. Like Katheryn, he is willing to deal with life no matter where the chips may fall.

Now where can a person literally just let go and forget about the consequences of their actions? A dream! I’m not saying that you can’t do that in real life, but Katheryn literally went through a near-death experience. It makes sense for her to just;

giphy

The point of the dream beginning most likely takes place after Katheryn tells Hanna to get the nurse. They were having a conversation about Hanna’s meeting with Veronica because she was helping Benny get out of prison for drug possession in Candace’s car.

Screenshot_2

Katheryn is covering her mouth and rolls on her side in bed. Hanna’s is rubbing her shoulder because she is trying to comfort her friend.

In the next episode, the opening scene after Jim and Candace have their shower throw down shows Hanna giving Katheryn some final words of encouragement before she is carried by the nurse into surgery.

ep113-own-hhn-14-600x411

Overall, we can say that the dream take place either right before Katheryn goes into surgery or right after when she attempts to leave the hospital. There she comes face to face with Jim, Wyatt and Amanda. Everything else after that moment is a dream that Katheryn is experiencing.

When you think about it, this scenario does make sense because you will notice how aloof Katheryn is being about everything that is taking place around her.

ep113-own-hhn-3-365x240

For someone who has just gotten out of surgery, she was playing it off well. She was in an extreme amount of pain, and this was seen when she was struggling to get out of bed. What stunned me was how quickly she got out of her hospital gown and into her dress. She was not about to leave the hospital in a wheelchair, and Hanna held her up as they walked down the hallway. They come face to face with Wyatt and Jim as they are walking Amanda out of the hospital.

haves-and-have-nots-58

From there, Katheryn is in bed for the next couple of episodes because she is still recovering from the surgery. Now the thing my mom pointed out was that we never see her go back to the hospital for checkups or anything. Katheryn did tell Hanna that she had a wig on right before filming the video will. In terms of breast implants, we never hear that mentioned again after Hanna told Katheryn that she got some herself after her battle with cancer.

One of the biggest comebacks to this theory by readers and fans of the show has involved the new characters introduced in the show. I mean how could Katheryn know about parts of the story that she is not present for or people that she has never met? One word; dream!

If something is a dream then it is not supposed to make sense! Well maybe not ALL of it is supposed to make sense. Sometimes people have dreams that are a representation of the things that they would like to happen or would like to forget. Even so, there are some dreams that turn out to be premonitions of future events.

That makes the most sense to me about Katheryn because of her life. Think about it this way;

Screenshot_17

  1. She knows about her children’s self-destructive tendencies

Amanda was suicidal and would harm herself (through cuts or pills) whenever she felt ignored or abused. Wyatt was addicted to drugs and alcohol; after his horrific experience at bible camp with a priest that was “touching him.”

A mother’s worst fear with children like that would be that they would harm themselves or others around them. Funny this is that Amanda almost kills Professor Cannon and Wyatt kills Little Lizzie (nearly killing Benny as well). Everything comes around full circle when Amanda kills herself and Wyatt confesses to the hit-and-run charges.

ep101-own-hhn-5-600x411

  1. She knew about Jim’s affairs and that he would do anything to get his way

Is it too far of a stretch to assume that she would not think that Jim would still run for office despite all of the skeletons in the Cryer family closet?

Not to mention she gave her famous #9 speech to Candace before going into the hospital. So, we know she knew of the other 8 women that Jim has had an affair with.

ep101-own-hhn-7-600x411

  1. She knew Jeffery was gay

As Jim told David early on in Season 2, “So what if your son is gay? Everyone knows about it David!” She just knew that she was not going to be the one to tell Veronica that Jeffery was gay, but after Amanda’s death she did not hold her tongue about it.

ep135-own-hhn-13-949x534

  1. It is clear that she knew about Celine’s children by Jim

She reveals this before beating Celine out of her house because of the “job security” that she believes she has with Jim.

These are just a few points that I wanted to mention because Katheryn knew about them before she went into surgery. This means that it would make sense for her dream to cover things like Jeffery coming out to his parents or Candace’s ongoing affair with Jim (which turned into a war).

Screenshot_6

One scene from a recent episode that truly makes me feel like this theory is legit took place at Hanna’s house. Remember when Katheryn finally visits Hanna’s home? They go inside to talk about recent events, and Katheryn has nowhere else to turn but to her old friend.

Her dialogue is what truly made me have an “Aha!” moment;

Hanna: How are you holding up?

Katheryn: Like a ton of bricks that dropped into the ocean…I don’t even know how I got here.”

*I’m only covering the parts of the dialogue that standout to my point*

Katheryn: I don’t have any friends Hanna.

Hanna: Yes you do, you’ve got Miss Veronica.

Katheryn: She’s not a friend; she’s just one of those people who is friendly because it’s good for her image. If I were in a battle…she’s not someone I would call. She’s certainly not equipped to deal with this.

Hanna: I see.

*Now here is the line that caught my attention*

Screenshot_7

Katheryn: My daughter’s dead and I don’t know what to do. It’s so strange…I know I’m alive, I’m standing, but I feel like I’m above myself watching all of this play out. I’m awake right?

Hanna: Yes, you are.

Katheryn: What do I do?

Screenshot_8

Hanna then talks about prayer being a comfort, and that Katheryn has her even if she has no one else. Doesn’t this sound eerily familiar to Katheryn’s battle with cancer?

Think about how Hanna is Katheryn’s only form of comfort during an extreme time of need. This involves Amanda’s death, and before it involved Katheryn’s near-death experience. Hanna is a much needed form of spiritual support and guidance for Katheryn.

images (14)

Out of body experiences do occur in real life, and most sources define it as;

“An experience that typically involves a sensation of floating outside one’s body and, in some cases, perceiving one’s physical body from a place outside one’s body (autoscopy).”

This typically occurs when someone is going through a near-death experience, surgery or sleep. Katheryn seems to fit the bill for all 3 categories because battling cancer put her in a near-death experience. Not to mention, during surgery she would have to be asleep!

katherine-and-jim-300x266

Again, just take note of the fact that Katheryn has been in the show but not a major character. She has taken a backseat while Jim, Candace and the Harringtons have really been carrying the story along. True, she was scared to death (no pun intended) while Wyatt was coping with the hit-and-run, and then after Amanda died it was as if she was put into shock.

Screenshot_7

Some could also say that her getting physical with Wyatt and Celine could be a representation of her fighting for her actual life.

20090902rangermma01

As a child, I remember that Tommy Oliver was doing this in “Fighting Spirit” in Power Rangers Dino Thunder. During that episode, Tommy was put into a coma from trying to get out of his invisible state due to his dino gem. While in a coma, he was fighting his past ranger personas. In the end, he woke up and it was all a test to see how strong his will to live truly was.

If you did not watch Power Rangers as a child like I did, then that comparison just went completely over your head. However, the end result is the same; a person in a near-dear experience tries to fight for their life!

Screenshot_1

My mom thinks that after the funeral, Katheryn is going to snap out of this dream and wake up! Another angle that the show could take involves everything crumbling to pieces. I mean Jim has literally given up on his conquest for the Governor’s mansion and Candace. Wyatt is well on his way to prison, and Veronica has lost it all as well.

the-haves-and-the-have-nots_1_35_640x480_53c69d5182d2e

Celine has something up her sleeve that we have not seen yet, but she has been kicked out the Cryer mansion. I just can’t wrap my mind around it, but at some point she has to wake up! It could be in Part 2 of Season 3, or at the very end of the show. Either Katheryn wakes up to make some major changes in her life, or she actually dies in surgery and the video of her will gets carried out.

Screenshot_5

What do you all think of this theory? Keep in mind that I did mention the show Dallas had a similar plotline. It took place during Season 9 (“Dream Season”) when Pam Ewing was dreaming the events of the entire season!

hagmantime.jpg.CROP.article250-medium

Most viewers also say that the “Who Shot J.R.?” mystery was similar to Amanda’s suicide. I must say that my mom and I still have our doubts about it being a suicide, but since no other evidence has been mentioned; we can do nothing but speculate at this point.

Screenshot_2

Remember that there have been no reports of the autopsy that involves her death tattoo or her possibly carrying a baby (from her being raped by Professor Cannon). Also there was the “Who Done It” plot after J.R. was shot. There were many suspects who were possibly guilty of the crime just like there were many suspects of Amanda’s death.

WatchMojo.com put together a Top 10 list of TV shows that had episodes where it was nothing more than a dream. After watching it, I truly began to notice a similar trend when compared to the HAHN. It was not surprising to see the “Dream Season” of Dallas made it on the list!

Screenshot_31

After reading my first blog about the subject, some fans admitted to being furious that this could be a reality. Some viewers could not believe that Tyler Perry would pull such a trick. However, you have to remember that this is a TV show and anything can happen! Viewers might feel “cheated” if everything that they have been watched turned out to be a dream.

Screenshot_3

If the show has had you hooked, or if you have felt feelings whether they are anger or love for a character then you have not been cheated. I’m sure that a lot of viewers have invested a lot of time and excitement into this show. Who cares if it turns out to be a dream? If you have loved it so far then it should not matter. It would be a great way for things to come around full circle.

Is the show a dream? When will Katheryn wake up? Is she dead or is she alive? When will her video recording of her will be brought up again? What if Katheryn wakes up, and we get to see Amanda brought back to the show? If the show is revealed to be a dream, would you continue to watch it?

Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots Theory: What Will Happen in the Season 3 Finale?

By Jeremy Carden

Screenshot_19

HAHN fans are ready for the sizzling mid-season finale on Tuesday!

There are so many things to ponder based on the preview for the new episode. The focus on this blog will be my own theories about what will happen on Tuesday’s episode.

I’ll start off with a plot that seems like it is too obvious not to mention; Candace is finally going to sleep with Oscar!

Screenshot_31

We see in the preview, Candace is wearing “bedclothes” so to speak (funny because she told Jeffery that her “bedclothes” consisted of nothing). Notice the guy’s hair and ear; you’ll see it is a white male. Aside from Jim, it is clear that Oscar is the one who is in bed with Candace.

Do they actually sleep together? Well that is something we will have to wait and see in the episode. Not to mention the reasoning behind her sudden interest in sleeping with him. Could it be because his advice about auctioning was the reason she won the bid on the towing company? Most fans speculate that the old man at the auction on the phone was talking to either Oscar or Candace to make bids.

Screenshot_25

Going back to Hanna’s house, she looks out the window and sees something that puts her in near shock. What did she see? Most likely it is Quincy who is outside of her window.

However, we see that she opens the door and rushes out. Where is she going and why would she rush out of the front door when Q was right there at the window?

The main reason I could see her doing something like that was if Q had her grandson outside with him. Again, I’m not 100% sure because the preview only shows so much. For him to just randomly show up to Hanna’s house with his son would be a bit of a stretch. I guess we will just have to wait and find out!

Screenshot_27

We do see Benny in a rage after noticing that it looks like Q struck Hanna on the side of her face. You can notice what looks like a bruise on the side of her face when compared to the other side.

Screenshot_41

Hanna begs Benny not to go out, and Benny tells her to lock the door. When she rushes out of the house, she unlocks the front door to get out.

Screenshot_33

We do know at some point she goes to Candace. Considering she is wearing the same robe she was before she supposedly slept with Oscar, Hanna goes to warn her about Q. Looking at Candace’s face, either she is shocked at the bruise on her mother’s face or Hanna talks her out of sleeping with Oscar.

Screenshot_28

This can let us assume 1 of 2 things:

  1. Hanna waits until Benny leaves and races out of the house to warn Candace about Quincy. How she gets to the Sarandon is anyone’s guess because later we see Benny crash the car he bought from Erica for Hanna into Q’s car. I’m assuming she takes the bus in order to get to Candace.
  2. Hanna rushes out of the house unlocking the front door after Q knocks on her window.

Screenshot_26

Looking at the fact that it is still daylight when she races out of the house, it was #2; when Q is outside of her window. It is obvious that he came back to her house in order to find out where Candace is!

Benny asked Hanna if she told him where Candace was. I’m not sure if she did because like Jeffery, Q might have beaten her until she told him a location.

Screenshot_36

Later on, Benny races into Q’s car! Only 2 reasons I could see this happening in a reasonable sense:

  1. The only way he would know what Q’s car looked like would be if it was parked outside of Hanna’s house when she races out of the door when he knocks on the window. Hanna must have then told Benny what the car looked like.
  2. Hanna told Q where Candace was to save her life because he hit her. That was how Benny knew where to cut Q off in traffic and slam into his car.

Screenshot_43

Although, we do see Benny go to Warlock’s territory! It seems like he went to find out information on Q’s whereabouts after Hanna was hurt by him. Warlock did tell Candace that his crew was on the lookout for Q. Stands to reason that if Hanna did not tell Benny what Q’s car looked like, one of War’s crew members might have found out what he was driving.

hqdefault (1)

The scene with Benny slamming into Q’s car after being enraged over someone he loves being hurt reminded me of Monty doing the same to Joe in Daddy’s Little Girls.

Screenshot_40

Benny then proceeds to beat Q just like Monty did in the movie!

I like the similarities because if I remember correctly; Monty worked in a repair shop for vehicles. This is similar to Benny who owns his own towing company!

Screenshot_21

Going back to the Sarandon, it seems like Melissa is going to make another appearance. From what I’ve heard, we will finally learn the reason why she is so adamant to get Jeffery to sleep with her. It all seems to go back to the man in the hospital bed that she was sitting by a few episodes ago. Many fans believe the man to be her father, and Veronica is paying for his medical treatment in return for her seducing her son!

Screenshot_35

It seems like Jeffery has had enough of his mother’s evil ways and tells Melissa off!

Screenshot_37

What makes the scene even more interesting is the fact that it looks like Candace and Jeffery walk into a room and Melissa is waiting for him naked on the bed! Based on Jeffery’s expression, Candace is the one who walks in on the two of them. Very similar to when she comes to Jeffery’s apartment after the two had sex, and she is surprised to see Melissa (a female) at his place!

Screenshot_30

After a falling out with Melissa, it looks like Jeffery goes to Landon’s room. There he pushes him on the bed, and they might have angry sex because Jeffery is through with doing what his mother tells him to do.

Screenshot_42

The other plot in the episode involves Jim explaining to Wyatt that after confessing to the D.A. the only route for him is prison for murder. Jim asks the burning question that everyone has been waiting to hear the answer to for some time now; does Wyatt love Jeffery?

I wrote a blog about my thoughts on a Jeffery/Wyatt relationship awhile ago, and you can check it out here to get my perspective on the idea.

Screenshot_38

Here is one scene that caught my attention; Veronica walking with Benny and then the two seem to be in the same vehicle!

My theory is that after crashing into Q’s car and beating him up, Benny is arrested. After finding out what happened, Veronica comes to bail Benny out. Looking at how Benny is gripping/rubbing his wrist that seems to be what happened. Also notice the police car near Veronica, and you will assume it is a police station that they are coming out of.

Funny thing because back in Season 1, Veronica was the one who got Benny out of prison when he was wrongfully arrested!

Screenshot_29

The next scene with them in the vehicle together is interesting. What could they be talking about? My guess is that Benny is telling her why he did what he did to Q; he was a thug who beat up his sister, killed his nephew and hurt his mother. Veronica might reveal what she knows about the situation. Though knowing her character from what we’ve seen so far; she won’t tell Benny the truth.

Perhaps if Benny tells her what he knows about Q, she will think twice about her actions which included getting him out of jail and sending him over to Jeffery’s apartment.

Screenshot_21

After the day’s events, Veronica goes back home and finds David in their bed. Keeping true to her threats about David returning home, she pours gasoline around the bed while he is sleeping in it! Now if I were to make an educated guess; that will be the ending scene of the finale.

Screenshot_22

It looks as if she has a cigarette in her mouth while she is pouring the gas around the bed. She probably lights it up and tosses it to start the blaze.

What do you think will happen in the finale? Also, what do you hope to discover in the season half of Season 3?

Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots Theory: Veronica’s Too Darn Hot!

By Jeremy Carden

Screenshot_19

What can I say about the Ice Queen Veronica that has not been said already?

I mean we’ve known for quite some time that she has a heart that is cold as ice. However, based on the preview for the next episode; Veronica is heating things up!

In last week’s episode, we saw that Veronica’s treachery has reached a new level of crazy!

Screenshot_16

When David asked her if she was back on her pain pills or using crack; I almost lost it. Based on her recent behavior, it would not have surprised me if she said that she was using some kind of drug.

Looking back at Season 1, we learned that she became an alcoholic after having an abortion. From there, she eventually founded her own rehabilitation center. Afterwards, while practicing law and sustaining some back injury; she got addicted to pain killers.

Who is to say that Jeffery coming out wasn’t the trigger to her getting back on pain pills? She told David that she could be a bit crazy, but she has gone past “a bit crazy” sometime ago.

The main focus of this blog is going to be how Veronica is literally going to turn up the heat in the mid-season finale.

Picture 31

If you have watched Waiting to Exhale, you know that after Bernie found out that her husband was leaving her for a white woman; she went off! After she took his things from the closet, she threw them in his car and burned it out in the front yard.

This is kind of ironic considering that Veronica suspects David of leaving her for a white woman (Maggie).

Screenshot_21

Now the preview for the finale shows David back in his bedroom, but Veronica is not happy to see him there at all. The dialogue expresses that David is back where he belongs (his home), but Veronica has dared him to come back home on several occasions.

David is sleeping in his bed, but then the scene with Veronica pouring gasoline has the HAHN community in a panic!

Stab.0

All I could think about was that scene from House Party when Full Force was planning on burning Play’s house when they couldn’t get into the party!

Tyler Perry was NOT kidding when he said that things would get too darn hot!

Screenshot_17

It seems as if “simple bitch” was the hot button to set Veronica off of the deep-end. Considering that was one of the first times that Veronica has completely lost it, she just had a way about tearing up that bar that had a kind of class to it.

Screenshot_19

Something interesting to take note of was the fact that David was just looking on without flinching during Veronica’s fit of rage. Based on his actions, it almost seemed as if this was not the first time she went off like this before. Remember that she was an alcoholic AND addicted to pain pills. It stands to reason that he has seen her go off from time to time during her recovery.

Now it might just be me, but I felt like she was looking good in last week’s episode. That really just made her character shine in the episode, and it goes along with what she was wearing. Back when Maggie was first introduced as Jim and David’s campaign manager, she told Veronica to tone down her outfits.

Screenshot_13

She seemed to be wearing restrictive colors that had a “calm atmosphere.” It was as if her outside appearance was hiding the raging storm inside. After the D.A. came to her house looking for Jeffery’s car, it was time for that storm to arrive at the Sarandon Hotel.

I had another blog about how far Veronica was willing to go in order to get her way, and it looks like the next episode is going to have her crossing into new territory.

Screenshot_24

Was I the only one who noticed that there was somewhat of a relationship-level of concern between Quincy and Veronica?

She asked what the hell was wrong with him after he told her how he beat her child. Even though she told Q to “rough him up” at the apartment, she did not want Jeffery harmed. That is like throwing Jeffery into the ocean with a piece of meat tied to your neck, and Veronica tells the shark (Q) to nibble him a bit but not to hurt him. Made no sense to me at all…

However, just listening to her tone of voice when she said “What the hell is wrong with you?” had a particular ring to it that just caught my attention.

Screenshot_29

Eventually, she is going to be brought down at some point. I do not think that Jennifer (the D.A.) found anything at her house because if you remember back from Season 2; Veronica wrote down the location of Jeffery’s car at the Cryer Mansion. She then tore up the piece of paper that she wrote it down on and tossed it in the trash.

It also seems like we will find out the reason behind Melissa’s constant advances on Jeffery in the finale as well. All of us can agree that Veronica has some serious dirt on her to keep her in line!

Do you think that Veronica is going to get off of her icy throne to burn down her “castle” in order to get things done her way? Will David wake up or get burnt up?

Screenshot_23

My guess is that Veronica pouring the gasoline around the bed is going to be the last scene in the episode.

Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots Theory: Who is Oscar?

By Jeremy Carden

Screenshot_18

In the last episode of the HAHN, we finally got some information about Candace’s mystery admirer!

Considering that my last blog called “Who is Erica?” blew up even more than I originally predicted, I thought it would be a great idea to do the same for Oscar.

Screenshot_31

If you read my blog about Erica a couple of weeks ago, you noticed that my theory placed Oscar as the married man who bought a car for her which she then sold to Benny for $500.

Screenshot_15

According to Landon’s quick search on Oscar, we learned a few things about his history which will hopefully give us some more of his back story:

  • Full name: Oscar Aden
  • He was a college athlete
  • Started his graduate year in college as a stockbroker
  • Currently he owns his own investment firm where he manages millions of dollars for several different companies
  • His wife was an athlete as well, but died several years ago
  • He is a bachelor
  • He is rich

Screenshot_5

Out of all of those details, the one that seemed to spark Candace’s interest was his knowledge about auctions. It seems that she will learn from Oscar about bidding so she will try to buy the towing company that Benny is trying to acquire himself.

Now if the information is correct about him indeed being a bachelor since his wife died a few years ago, then I suppose it is not likely that he was the man who bought Erica her car.

Remember she told Benny that the reason she was selling the car was because she found out her boyfriend was married and bought the same car for his wife.

Who is this man and why is he so insistent on sleeping with Candace?

Screenshot_68

I think our “old dog” might have something to do with that…

Screenshot_1

Notice how Maggie asked David why he was looking at Oscar while he was eating his breakfast? David brushed off the question by saying that he looked familiar. Maggie then states that she does not trust Candace and that she needs to be watched. David scoffs saying that he agrees and if you notice it appears as if he was looking back over at Oscar and smiling.

At this point in the blog you are probably wondering what my overall theory is about Oscar.

I’ll tell you that I think David has “hired” him to watch Candace. The overall purpose of getting Oscar to do so might be to take back the money that she extorted from Jim!

The one line that he told Candace was that like a thief in the night, she would never see him coming. David said that unlike Jim who is fueled by his reckless behavior and emotions, he likes to stalk his prey and strike when they least expect him to.

Screenshot_40

Considering that Candace highly underestimates David, it is easily to see that if he really did get Oscar to pursue Candace; she wouldn’t expect him to. She does not trust Oscar because not only was he not aroused, but she just has a feeling about him.

Screenshot_3

Seems like Candace reads between a man’s legs like a fortune teller reads a person’s palm…

ep109-own-hhn-2-600x411

Keep in mind that if the detective did not screw up and arrest Benny instead of Candace back in Season 1; she would have been rotting away in jail!

Also remember that it was originally David’s idea for Jim to call on the Malones in order to kidnap Candace. Jim and Candace were playing their cat-and-mouse game, but David was the one to initiate those plans to get back at “The Criminal.”

With that being said, she had better watch her back because David will get her good!

The old saying is that a fool and their money are soon departed. With the way she is blowing through her funds, it seems clear that Candace is going to lose her wealth very soon.

Screenshot_4

Oscar manages millions of dollars for a number of companies, and with Landon informing Candace about his career that may mean she will get him to manage her millions.

Why you ask?

Benny’s friend in the tow truck business (I think his name is Mitch) told him that the towing company up for auction at $500,000 is actually worth up to over $2 million considering it is a building and a fleet of trucks.

If Candace does buy into this company and wants Warlock to go straight, that means she will need someone to manage her funds. Who you might ask?

Why the rich investment firm owner Oscar of course!

At some point, all of Candace’s past misdeeds will catch up to her. Even though Quincy is out there looking for her, I think her biggest fear is losing all of her money and ending up with nothing.

Screenshot_66

What do you think about this theory involving Oscar?

Considering that he was introduced towards the end of the first part of Season 3, I feel that Oscar is going to be playing a bigger role in the second half of this season.

Does David have him watching over Candace to know her whereabouts? Was he the man who bought Erica the car she sold to Benny? Will Candace eventually sleep with him?

Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots Theory: Who is Erica?

By Jeremy Carden

Screenshot_18

In the last couple of episodes, we have been “introduced” to a few new characters. These are characters that were on the screen for a couple of minutes, but their presence has led to some pretty big assumptions.

The girl named Erica who sold her car to Benny for $500 has made fans speculate so many theories about who she really is.

Screenshot_10

As the title of this blog suggests, I will be discussing who this character is (well who she might be). We know very little about her to begin with, but that might be enough to potentially predict who she really is.

She calls up Benny’s Towing Service to take her car and do whatever he pleased with it. Despite his drastic personality shift since he woke up from his coma, Benny was actually intelligent enough to ask some good questions. I mean it is not every day that someone randomly wants to get rid of a perfectly good car.

Screenshot_30

Not to mention the fact that it was brand new and she was willing to hand it over for $500! After doing a background check and seeing that it was legit, he took the car and title for the $500 in his wallet.

We do know that she moved to Savannah, Georgia to be with the man she was in love with. This same man bought her the car that she was willing to get rid of without a second thought. After finding out that he had bought the same car for his wife; she sold it to Benny.

So who is this mystery man who was having an affair with Erica?

Screenshot_15

My guess is the man who was sitting at the bar waiting for a “beautiful woman” at the Sarandon Hotel!

He seems to have an interest in Candace, and that might mean he will play a larger role in future episodes. Pay attention to the fact that he appears to be attracted to African-American women.

Now if I were to make a theory based on this, I would say that this man is named Oscar (considering one of the future episodes is named “Oscar). Erica was on her way to meet with him at the Sarandon Hotel bar, and this is why he told Candace that he was waiting for a beautiful woman.

Screenshot_31

After finding out Oscar was married, she got rid of the car and now wants nothing to do with him!

I’m assuming that at some point, Oscar realizes that Erica is not going to show up and then turns his attention to another beautiful African-American woman; Candace!

Overall, that is my theory about who she is and why she just gave away her car without a second thought to Benny.

Where did she come from and who are her parents?

Screenshot_32

Those are good questions that I wish I had the answers to. Fans have speculated that she and Oscar are detectives or something like that. Some think that Oscar is spying on Candace and Benny is now going to be in ANOTHER setup due to a new car (remember back in Season 1 when he was in jail for driving Candace’s new car that had drugs?).

I don’t want to dismiss these theories, but I really hope that it does not come to that. Honestly, I would rather see new characters introduced with their own motives rather than them being pawns for one of the “Haves.”

ep134-own-hhn-4-949x534

Of all the theories that I have heard about Erica, I think the most interesting one involves her being another one of the children that Jim Cryer had outside of his marriage!

Do I think this is true? Not really…

I do find it to be an interesting theory and fun to think about! Let’s say that I do think that this could be a possibility; who is her mother?

Considering all of the twists and turns that this show has taken us on so far, I would gamble and say that Erica’s mother is…

Jennifer the D.A.

Jim did tell Katheryn that he slept with her during their honeymoon. The two slept together because Jennifer was in the room next to them, and Jim snuck in while Katheryn was sleeping.

Is this true?

ep127-own-hhn-5-949x534

Remember this was back in Season 2 after Wyatt was arrested. Jim and Katheryn were arguing in the jailhouse about their current situation. I am not 100% sure if Jim was being honest about sleeping with Jennifer or if he was being cruelly sarcastic to Katheryn.

Now it would not surprise me if it was true because of Jim’s nature, but there is reasonable doubt. It was mentioned that Jennifer hates both Jim and David because of a case brought into their courtroom. During one of Jennifer’s biggest cases of her career, she lost and that has caused her to hold a grudge against the two men.

Tony-step-up-500

Another theory is that Erica is the daughter of Tony! I mean the nurse at the county hospital did tell Hanna that he had brought in multiple children (around 5 I think) to see if they were a match to donate him a kidney.

ep124-own-hhn-10-949x534

It would be interesting for Benny to start talking to Erica without knowing that it is his half-sister. Not to mention it would be a way of Tony slipping his way past Hanna to get to Benny. However, Hanna did mention in front of Benny while talking to Candace last week about her defending her brother from Tony in court. This could cause some friction between father and son if they were to encounter each other again.

Out of the two theories, my favorite is the one about Jim and Jennifer being her parents. This is due to the fact that I believe that theory to bring things around full circle.

What do I mean by that?

Let me break it down;

Screenshot_29

Jennifer slept with Jim during his honeymoon with Katheryn, and from that night of passion became pregnant with his child.

As to whether or not Jim knew about the pregnancy is a mystery, but he must have lost interest in Jennifer (like he did with Celine) and moved onto someone else.

Now we get to one of Jennifer’s biggest cases in her career that takes place in Jim’s courtroom. Remember that Jim told Candace in Episode 2 of the series that one of his first cases on the bench involved him letting a guilty woman killer off without so much as a slap on the wrist.

ep131-own-hhn-12-949x534

My theory is that the man he let go without ruling him guilty was one of Mama Rose’s boys!

Jim told Candace that the man sends him holiday cards every year as a sign of gratitude. The cards also say that if he were to ever have a problem with a woman; he would handle it for Jim. He then tells Candace that he could make people “disappear” as if he were a magician.

Isn’t that kind of ironic considering the fact that he had the Malones make Candace “disappear” for a few days when they abducted her for Jim?

Jennifer brought the case to Jim’s courtroom and it would have been an easy win considering how much evidence she had against the killer. Talk about a sweet victory for her to have one of the biggest cases of her life take place in the courtroom of a man who had a one-night stand with her (and potentially left her as a single mother).

Screenshot_1

Since Jim let the man off the hook, Jennifer harbors an intense grudge against him (and David).

From there, Erica grew up and moved off somewhere else. At some point, she falls in love with Oscar and we know the rest of the story.

That is my theory about who Erica is and where she came from. I really like the Jim and Jennifer theory because of what I said before about it bringing things around full circle! The Malones, Jennifer, Jim and Erica all are involved in the same twisted plot! What do you think about that?

Screenshot_9

Is she the daughter of someone major in the show’s current lineup of characters? Who do you think her father is? Is it Jim, Tony or someone else I did not mention like David? What about the man at the bar? Is his name Oscar and if so is he the man who gave Erica the car?

*Keep in mind that Benny has a short video with Erica stating her name and the fact that she sold her car to him for $500. Doesn’t that sound familiar? Hanna has a video will of Katheryn before she went into surgery back when she had cancer in Season 1! Remember these 2 videos because they may come up again at some point!*

Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots Theory: Who is Candace’s Spy at the Sarandon Hotel?

By Jeremy Carden

Screenshot_18

This blog is going to be about one of those little things that I picked up on while watching some of the Season 3 episodes.

It is an interesting theory that will make you go back at look at Season 2 episodes at some point!

Candace mentions having a point of contact at the hotel watching over Maggie Day. She told Jeffery this information before she left his apartment to go stay at the Sarandon.

LOS127IMG14

Back in Season 2, I always thought it was Landon because of the fact that she introduced him to Jeffery and he worked on Jim and David’s campaign.

However, we find out that she did not know about Landon working on the campaign. She thought that he was simply volunteering at the office.

Alright, so who is working for Candace?

the-haves-and-the-have-nots_1_31_640x480_53a14e8a0b665

We know this person was the one who took Maggie’s phone. In the Season 2 finale, David is escorting a drunken Maggie to her hotel room (which is adjoined to his) and she mentions that someone had taken her phone.

This phone is now in Candace’s possession and she is using it for information. What kind of information is she trying to obtain from Maggie? Does she know that Maggie is running Jim and David’s campaign?

If you have been reading my theory blogs for awhile then you are most likely curious as to why I’m asking more questions than giving theories at this point. That is because even I have no idea why Candace wants information from Maggie.

After writing blogs about this show for over a year, I’ve realized that there are far more questions given than answers.

Now if I were to guess as to who is the person that is working for Candace at the hotel…

Screenshot_24

It would have to be the old guy that was hitting on Maggie the first time that David meets her at the bar!

Don’t you remember that?

screenshot_22

The older man that Maggie asked David to save her from, and it makes sense for a couple of reasons.

  1. Candace knew about Maggie and David being hugged up together at the bar. The old man was practically sitting next to them! I’m sure he could see and hear everything that he needed to in order to understand what was going on.
  2. We know that Candace can manipulate pretty much anyone and it wouldn’t be hard to believe that she could convince an old man to do her bidding.

As you can see, this is one of those “blink and you miss” characters in the show. Now if it really was this old man, he would have had to be in the bar the same night Maggie was at the piano.

It is not impossible to say that he was at the bar. Keep in mind, David walked into the hotel lobby after the disastrous dinner party at the Cryer Mansion. Maggie was playing the piano while enjoying a drink. She could have been sitting at the bar prior to David showing up and the old man was there to. It was during this time that her phone could have been swiped from her.

Screenshot_1

Considering how much she and David drank that night, it seems clear that her phone could have easily been taken without her noticing until later.

When did Candace acquire Maggie’s phone?

She told Jeffery that it was brought to her by the person who was there keeping tabs on Maggie. The only way she could have gotten that phone was during her time bouncing back and forth between Jeffery’s apartment and Warlock’s side of town where Jim was.

ep132-own-hhn-12-949x534

Jeffery asked how she knew about David coming out of the hotel room with Maggie Day. That was a good question because no one was in the hallway during that awkward encounter except for Landon, Jeffery, Veronica, Maggie and David.

Perhaps this was mentioned on Maggie’s phone? This really makes my head hurt when I even try to think about it.

Screenshot_25

In any case, you have to take notice of the fact that the old man’s facial expressions seemed to change while listening to Maggie talking with David.

Check out the video below and you will see what I mean. Remember to pay attention to the old man’s body language/facial expressions to see what I mean!

Who do you think is working for Candace at the Sarandon? Is it the old man who was hitting on Maggie?

Screenshot_9

Could it be this nameless man at the bar who seems to have a thing for Candace?
