Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots Theory: Jim’s Campaign Speech

By Jeremy Carden

11907208_914450651960723_2040476160599964211_n

This blog is not really about theories, but it is a breakdown of Jim’s campaign speech in the Season 3 finale. The speech was Jim’s way of taking Celine’s assault on his public persona by flipping the script!

He basically used his exposed affair and outside children to his benefit to return to the positive side of the voters. Love or hate him, you have to admit that Jim knows how to play a crowd!

CN6OvcoWgAA932g

During his speech, the bloodbath that he ordered had finally begun.

The only victim who made it out alive was Veronica, and it could be argued that it was because she and the rest of the “Haves” clan got arrested by Jennifer.

the-haves-and-the-have-nots-new-season

You could compare this to when Candace had Jim kidnapped the night that Amanda was going to shoot someone in the house. Remember that Jim was “Moe” in her twisted game, and that most likely meant that he was the one who would have gotten killed.

Screenshot_14

Jim had one of the killers hiding out in Veronica house, and when she came into her new home; she was going to be shot without anyone knowing. In a strange twist of fate, Veronica should be grateful that she was taken into police custody instead of being killed.

However, it has yet to be determined if the sniper will still be hiding out in her house until she does come home. Seriously, who think that Cryers and Harringtons WON’T get out of their current situation?

Screenshot_25

Moving onto the speech, it was one thing that Jim was practically telling one lie after the next, but I would have to say the other character’s made this scene. If only there were thought bubbles coming out from Veronica, Katheryn and David during the speech!

Screenshot_16

You could tell how they felt about Jim’s words based on their facial expressions. What I will do from here is breakdown Jim’s speech, and talk about each subject during his time at the podium. I will talk about what Jim says, the character’s reactions to his words and the killings.

I had to listen to this speech about 6 times in order to type it out correctly, but it was worth it for the purpose of discussing it with my faithful readers. Everything marked in bold represents Jim’s lines during the speech.

Here is how the speech started:

As I’m sure you can imagine, I’ve had to think long and hard about what I’m going to say up here today. But before I say it, I would like to first thank my lovely wife Katheryn for staying beside me all of these years. And of course our daughter in her absence here although never ever far from my heart, and our son Wyatt.

thehaves_summer14_t11

From the start, you can tell that it appears that Jim is about to announce that he will abandon his run for office. He was trying to start off on a positive note by acknowledging his wife who had been with him despite the affair, and then point out his children by Katheryn. Overall, it seems that he was trying to gain sympathy before getting into the meat of his speech.

I need to let you know that I am not a perfect man not by any means. I am a man who has made a lot of mistakes, but I am a man who owns his mistakes.

Screenshot_5

During this portion of the speech, we get to see Terrell murdered by having his throat slit by a prison guard.

Screenshot_8

Afterwards, Toxic is held down by several guards as he gets stabbed to death in the chest.

The line “A man who has made a lot of mistakes, but I am a man who owns his mistakes.” could be linked to Jim’s mistake of putting Wyatt in a “fake prison” setting, and then not listening to Katheryn’s warnings about getting him out of there.

Remember that if he had taken Wyatt out of prison when Katheryn told him to, Toxic would not have been able to get in Wyatt’s sex to sexually assault him.

Screenshot_9

Jim “owned” his mistake by having Toxic killed, but that still did not take away Wyatt’s emotional scars from the incident.

Screenshot_11

Yes, it is true. I had 2 sons with a woman that I used to love. This is a woman who was once kind and gentle. A woman who saw me through some very rough times during my marriage when my wife and I were going through some very difficult periods.

Yes, it is true that when I broke it off with this woman I was not there for her chi-…my children.

This is something that I have to live with, something that I have to deal with, and something that I will be sorry for the rest of my life. My only hope is that one day I can get to really meet these fine young men.

One day I can begin to right that wrong, and who knows perhaps even maybe be able to be some sort of a influence for good in their lives.

Screenshot_10

Celine was watching this part of the speech intensely on television from her home. My one question is whether or not she is buying what Jim was saying. He had just came to her house to have sex with her as revenge for what she did to him by exposing his affair and his outside children on television.

Screenshot_42

Makes you think about whether or not she will still trying to get “even” with Jim because she thinks he will really try to get to know Little Jimmy and Carlos. However, you have to remember that he is giving that “little bastard” a very small amount of child support.

My heart aches…my mind races when I think of all of the things that I have done wrong.

Screenshot_15

The scene of Professor Cannon being killed is probably my favorite of the 3 killings that took place. I am not “happy” because he got what he deserved for raping Amanda. However, it is the scene itself that had me smiling.

It was the fact that it was planned so beautifully! You get his attention by having a young attractive female with her hood up playing the role of the damsel in distress. She was parked right next to his car, and was pretending to have some car trouble.

Knowing that he was attracted to young women, Jim had it planned to catch the professor off-guard. Something else to note about Jim’s speech was that the killings and whatnot going on were personify his lines.

Screenshot_17

For example, he said that “his heart ached.” This lined up perfectly with Cannon being shot a few times in the chest by the woman.

Screenshot_18

We move onto the police at Benny’s towing company to take away the Black Sedan. That lines up with Jim’s like about how his mind races about everything that he has done wrong.

Screenshot_19

He was wrong for trying to cover up Wyatt’s hit-and-run charges, and now it is eventually coming back to bite him!

Then he gets into the part of the speech where he is done feeling sorry for himself, and tries to get the public to see that he has done good despite his many mistakes.

Screenshot_22

But you know what? I have also done some things, not very many, but some things right. And with your permission I would like to touch on just a few of those right now.

Screenshot_29

As a judge, I have managed to put some of this state’s worst criminals behind bars forever. Ironically, Veronica got Quincy (one of the state’s worst criminals) on the other side of those prison bars…and then Benny did the same thing.

Screenshot_21

I helped build a community center for the elderly. With my wife’s charity, we’ve dug wells in Africa, we’ve build hospitals, we’ve built homeless shelters, we’ve built schools.

Screenshot_4

At this point, Maggie is both surprised and frustrated that Jim has not thrown in the towel. Not only that, he is truly working over the crowd in his favor.

We were on the front line of the earthquake in Haiti. We’ve spent millions of dollars helping underprivileged children. We have been instrumental in bringing medical supplies to the farthest reaches of the farthest continents.

Yes, I am a man who has made many mistakes, but I am a god-fearing man. I am a man who goes to church. I am a man who when he makes a mistake he comes out and he says it unless he is blindsided on television by someone who has an agenda.

Screenshot_40

Katheryn’s face during this scene was priceless! It is important to mention that the ONLY time we see this man in church was during Little Lizzie’s funeral!

He got a taste of the power of Jesus when Hanna comforted him after he told her to leave his house for having a cleaning crew clean Amanda’s room.

oprah.com-20150826-hhn-222-promo-2-949x534-550x309

And her agenda is simply to destroy me, but I will not let that happen because I am only human. And I hope that you will not let that happen either. That is why I am here today to ask you, no no forget that I am here to plead with you; don’t let this other agenda win vote for Jim Cryer come election day.

Screenshot_38

I also want to mention that Veronica’s face after Jim mentioned his career being destroyed by someone with an agenda really stuck with me.

screenshot_13

During the Harringtons’ Q&A session to buy time for Jim to arrive (the first televised campaign that was cancelled due to Amanda’s death), she was blindsided by Landon. The gay activist on the scene had an “agenda” that almost made Veronica crash and burn, but she was able to make it out like a champ.

That is why I think that she made that face because Jim did exactly what she did!

Screenshot_34

Yes, I’ve made mistakes. Yes, my life is in shambles sometimes, but my business has grown each and every year. That is what this state needs; someone who can grow the business in this state each and every year. That is what I am not quitting, that is why I am standing here in front of you to tell you that yes Jim Cryer IS running for governor of the state of Georgia.

oprah.com-20150826-hhn-222-promo-2-949x534-550x309

Overall, Jim’s speech did what he wanted it to do. It made him regain a positive image to the public, and this was based on the roar of applause that he received after his speech.

This meme sums up my initial reaction after listening to Jim’s speech:

FB5IGMg

Basically, the man was telling one lie after the next…

Screenshot_35

Also, Katheryn coming to his side was a sign of unity to express that she is with him no matter what. She certainly knows how to play the role of the understanding wife (at least to the general public).

Screenshot_37

David, Maggie and Veronica know that Jim’s political revival means that their plan of getting David to run will be more difficult however; he plans to run on a separate ticket.

Screenshot_28

Now that they’ve all be arrested, I am interested to see how things play out. Not just for how they manage to avoid jail, but what it will do to Jim’s campaign now.

What did you think of the speech? Did you want to know what the other characters were thinking while listening to Jim’s words? Do you think being arrested will help or hurt their run for office?

Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots Theory: Is Hanna a Good Christian?

By Jeremy Carden

11907208_914450651960723_2040476160599964211_n

Is it just me or is it getting too darn hot in here? Yeah, I know I’m going to catch a lot of heat for this blog…

Honestly, I’ve wanted to write this blog since the first few episodes of Season 3. However, I felt that it was important to wait for the entire season to end before working on this. For the sake of character development, I placed this topic on my to-do-list after the finale aired.

hannah_haves_summer_bible-592x330

One of the biggest debates going on between HAHN fans is about the type of Christian that Hanna really is. Does she represent a real Christian woman, or is she simply a Bible-carrying hypocrite?

Before I move to the next section of the blog, I want you to take a few minutes to watch the video below:

It illustrates the kind of “Christian” that Tyler Perry wrote for the series, and the role that Crystal Fox has been bringing to life onscreen.

ep119-own-hhn-4-365x240

Do I think that Hanna is a good Christian?

I think that Hanna IS a Christian. Who am I to judge Hanna on whether or not she is a good Christian?

The only person who can truly judge on her being a good or bad Christian is God!

Like everyone who has ever lived, Hanna has some things about her past that she is not proud of. She lived a life that was not pleasing to God. We do not know a lot about her pre-Christian life, but we know that she was very similar to the way that Candace is now.

iuuio

Benny and Candace have different fathers, and Hanna used to run around with a lot of men (some married). At one point, one of these “boyfriends” raped Candace when she was a little girl (I think she was 5).

After that dramatic event, Candace began to change into the woman that she is today.  Hanna said that Candace was ashamed of her for being a maid, took her income tax money one year to buy a laptop and began lying to her about everything.

Then Candace was nearly killed by a pimp, and after taking her daughter back into her home; the Young family was threatened by that pimp because he said he would kill them all. However, this unnamed pimp was eventually killed himself before coming after Candace and her family.

11880626_10204917851572663_1569380142509859390_n

Moving forward, Candace got together with Quincy and had a baby. Hanna took care of the child for 2 years, but Candace came to take back her son. She was then tricked by Quincy into thinking that paying him $50,000 would be the “price” needed for her to leave him for good with her son.

She gave him the money, but was told that on a fishing trip; Quincy threw their son into the river which resulted in him being killed.

Screenshot_2

Of course, we know that Quincy nearly beat her to death because Benny went to pick her up. However, she was beaten beyond recognition to the point that he walked past her when he arrived to get her. That led to Benny foreclosing on Hanna’s house for the $50,000 to give to Candace, and the doctor bills that she needed after recovering from her assault.

One of the few other things that we know about Hanna’s pre-HAHN life was that she had a sister who died from a drug overdose.

Screenshotiopipo

What does any of this have to do with Hanna’s Christianity and faith?

It is important to cover her past, the present (what we’ve seen in HAHN Seasons 1-3) and her possible future.

Hanna is a human being just like the rest of us! For any readers who are Christians (like myself), it is important to realize that there is a never-ending struggle between balancing faith and human nature.

Screenshot_25

If Crystal Fox is reading this, I want her to know that she is OWN-ing (pun intended) the role of Hanna! As she stated in the video, she did not have any intention of trying to play a perfect Christian, and I think she is bringing the role to life.

I am writing a detailed blog about a fictional character, and that goes to show the incredible talent that goes into the HAHN. The cast and Tyler Perry truly bring these characters to life.

With that being said, let’s take a look at Hanna’s development from Episode 1 to the finale of Season 3. Strap yourselves in because we have A LOT of ground to cover. Speaking of humanity, I am a human myself. If there are any important events or scenes that I overlook (not purposefully), you can inform me in the comment section below.

130903mag-crystal-fox1

Season 1, we quickly see that Hanna is a trustworthy woman. She is aware of who she is, where she came from and her faith in God. It is clear that Benny is her baby, but Candace is like the child that she failed with.

Hanna is a very independent woman, and her house is clear evidence of that fact. You could tell that her life (after becoming a Christian trying to make an honest living) was spent working to pay it off. That was why she was so hurt when she found out that Benny foreclosed it, and then when it was destroyed by Quincy.

Overall, she is a hardworking woman that wants to make an honest living. Even by being a maid, she is cheerful about what she has even if it does make her a “Have Not.”

katandhannabond_zps0141d050

She was the first person to truly show Katheryn Cryer what it was like to have a true friend. Hanna’s faith and friendship were the reasons why Katheryn was able to make it through her battle with cancer.

ep115-own-hhn-10-365x240

After Benny was placed in jail under false pretenses (everything planned out by David and his detective), Katheryn was able to get Veronica to assist Hanna. During this time, there was a real strain that widen the gap between Hanna and Candace. She wanted her daughter to tell the truth because Benny was caught in a bind due to her own deceptive ways!

ep110-own-hhn-5-600x411

The scene with Hanna praying with David has to be one of the most powerful moments in Season 1! That proved to David that Hanna was NOT planning on destroying the Cryers from the inside out with Candace’s assistance!

Similar to Candace, Hanna did not have a good relationship with Veronica. She pretty much turned her nose up at the maid, and Hanna was not a fan of her uppity attitude. Thankfully, the two appeared to be in a better place after Veronica got Benny out of jail. Wow, I’m glad that was worked out! Hopefully, knowing ruins this new found mutual respect between these two strong black women of different social statuses!

io;iop

Oh wait…

ep107-own-hhn-6-600x411

Despite being a maid, Hanna really cared about the well being of Amanda and Wyatt. This was shown when she was concerned about Amanda when she was in the hospital, and when Wyatt almost tricked her into getting drugs for him.

Screenshot_4

Season 1 was a good way of setting up who Hanna is as a mother, friend, Christian and person. She has her shortcomings (but who doesn’t?), but does not allow them to get in the way of who she is.

2na02a1

Now, I will get into Season 2! Throughout this season, Hanna is basically discovering that those close to her are not people she can fully trust. I will get into her interactions with Tony and Celine because they are prime candidates for this subject!

Tony-step-up-500

During Season 1, we learned that Tony is Benny’s deadbeat father. Hanna was not mincing words with the man, and it was clear that there was no love lost between these 2. There was almost a connection between them when he said that he could somehow assist Benny with getting out of jail because he was railroaded.

What could have been a positive turn for his relationship with Benny and Hanna, it is later discovered that he only wanted to be a part of Benny’s life in order to find out if he would be the right donor for him to get a new kidney.

ep123-own-hhn-2-600x411

His selfish side came out even more when he wanted Benny taken off of life support in order to obtain a kidney. Then with him taking Hanna to court in the midst of her grief over Benny, and then putting her in jail because it was assumed that she hid Benny; Tony ruined any chances of getting connected with the Youngs.

Not to mention that he lied to Benny’s face about why he wanted him taken off of life support. I do not believe that we have seen the last of Tony, but as far as Hanna is concerned; it wouldn’t matter to her if she never saw him again.

ep210-own-hhn-6-949x534

It really hurts me to go into Hanna’s friendship with Celine. Their “is proof that you cannot call everyone a friend, and those close to you might end up giving you a colder shoulder than wearing a short sleeve shirt in the wintertime!

The two have known each other for a couple of years, and they seemed to help each other in difficult times. However, when Hanna cleaned Jim’s shoes…we learned that Celine was very territorial of him for some reason.

From that point on, there was tension between the two because Katheryn was giving Hanna the attention that she never received from her. It was truly every maid for herself once Hanna was given the position head of staff position within the Cryer Mansion.

4so395

The climax of their tension was when Hanna and Celine got into a catfight!

Hanna’s only friend at that point was Katheryn, and their friendship was tested after she learned that Wyatt was the one to hit Benny. Then with Jim trying to make Hanna think that she was crazy by saying that she did not hear what Wyatt said after he came home high, Hanna was through with the Cryers.

haves2

Things took an even darker turn when Hanna told the police that Wyatt hit Benny and Little Lizzie. Even though Katheryn moved Benny to a private hospital and got Hanna out of jail; Wyatt was arrested and the two friends were once again at a crossroad.

It was great to see the two rekindle their friendship towards the end of the season when Katheryn offered Hanna her job back!

ep130-own-hhn-3-949x534

Hanna was overjoyed when Benny was released from the hospital (despite some personality defects that have yet to be addressed), and her baby was home once again.

We see Hanna get into a love triangle of sorts with Byron and Michael. Byron was a detective hired by Jim to watch Hanna, and to see if she would drop dime on Wyatt. It was sad to see the two get so close, but then he ended up betraying Hanna.

ep131-own-hhn-5-949x534

The other sad thing to witness was that Hanna pushed away a good man (Michael), but was letting the snake in the grass (Byron) get close to her.

Screenshot_14

Once Quincy was released from prison, Hanna was assaulted by the evil brought into her home by Candace. This caused even more tension between her and Candace because Candy Cane was the reason he came to her house in the first place!

zap-the-haves-and-the-have-nots-season-2-photo-002

Overall, I think that Season 1 established that Hanna was a woman of faith. Season 2 was a true test of that faith.

You have to think about Hanna literally having everyone in her life betraying her or using her in some way. Then Benny was on the brink of death for nearly the entire season, and he was the only good thing about her life.

I feel that this season showed that Hanna is a Christian, and even though she knows that God knows best; understanding why He does what He does is not always an easy task.

Screenshot_6

She really felt alone during this season without letting anyone assist her (except Byron), and even when Candace tried to lend a helping hand it was a tense situation. It truly was a good buildup for the Hanna that we see in next season.

Screenshot_2

Finally, we get to Season 3! The opening scene of the season was Benny’s “Welcome Home” celebration. Fans were outraged to see Hanna (a Christian who was drinking and dancing the night away) during the first 5 minutes after the opening credits!

Personally, I had no problem with her drinking a couple of beers and having a good time. Seriously, this was one of the first times that we’ve seen a smile on the woman’s face since Season 1!!!

the-haves-and-the-have-nots_1_29_640x480_5390395330286

After everything that she went through in Season 2, Hanna deserved to relax, have fun and enjoy herself for just one night!

There was one particular moment during the episode that had me curious. It was when she told a saddened Michael to relax and enjoy the celebration of her son’s return home. The only reason I was puzzled during this scene was because of a what-if scenario.

What if…Michael’s granddaughter was the one who lived, but Benny was the one who died? Let’s say Michael held a party for Little Lizzie’s return home, and he invited Hanna to come to the festivities? Would she be able to lighten up and have a good time despite her grief?

ep213-own-hhn-6-949x534

My guess is no given how she was acting when she thought Benny was going to die. To be fair, she was living in a reality with all of her “friends” using, lying or betraying her in some way.

One of the biggest events of the early episodes of Season 3 involving Hanna’s character was her almost having sex with a drunken Michael; she was about to go all the way until Benny walked in on them.

Was she in the wrong?

Again, she is a human and she even pointed out to Michael that she would have given into the flesh if Benny had not walked in on them. Most fans call Hanna a hypocrite for shaming Benny for his sexual encounters with Veronica.

Seriously, I’m not making excuses for what Hanna ALMOST did with Michael. However, the circumstances were different!

Screenshot_22

Benny was having sex with a married woman! Yeah, I know the Ice Queen is old enough to be his mother, but age is just a number…

I will get more into Hanna’s speech to Michael after Benny walked in on them later in the blog because it really falls in line with what I have to say about Candace.

Later on in the season, Hanna tells Michael that she can’t see him for awhile. It is just until she gets right with herself (and God) after what they almost did. She was not in a place where she could handle being in a relationship or being “friends with benefits.”

In hindsight, I think that she was pushing away a good man. However, I give Hanna props for being honest with Michael AND herself. There was no need in pursuing a relationship if she would not be able to give it her all. Her mind was truly distracted with Benny and her missing grandson.

Screenshot_8

Moving away from the Young household, Hanna’s next form of development came after discovering Amanda’s dead body. She was there for the Cryers when they needed it the most. Hanna was a true friend to Katheryn, and was there by her side from the time she walked through the door until she was allowed to go home after the police were there.

If anything, she is one of the few people who can calm down both Wyatt and Jim! I went into this in another blog, but the scene between her and Jim was one of the highlights of Season 3. Her Christianity truly showed when she comforted Jim after he told her to leave his house after she got a cleaning crew to cleanse Amanda’s room.

I really don’t have much to say here other than Hanna bringing God into the Cryer house when they needed it the most.

Katheryn’s trip to Hanna’s house was another great scene that shows Hanna being there for her friend when she needed it the most. She truly is the glue that helps to keep the Cryer family together.

Screenshot_6

I guess you can say that the next highlight of Hanna’s character development was when she went to Candace’s hotel room with Benny. This scene was when it was revealed to Benny (and the viewers) about what happened when Candace was molested by one of Hanna’s boyfriends.

Screenshot_8

Honestly, I think this was the climax of Hanna’s character development in terms of her relationship with Candace (before her grandchild was brought into the show). She told her that she did not approve of what she was doing with her life, and it would all end to a dead end. Hanna knew that all of Candace’s wealth came from ill-gotten funds.

Of course she was right, but she loves her daughter! That hug she gave Candace was real, and for Candace to breakdown into tears was a sight to see! To be fair, Candace was shocked by her mother’s words and actions.

I could see where this was coming from because the only other times that she lifted a finger to Candace was to slap her.

ep124-own-hhn-10-949x534

That scene to me was Hanna saying that despite your sinful ways, I love you more than you know. She feels that Candace can become a good person, and after seeing her battle Tony in the courtroom for Benny’s life; Candace has the skills to do some real good!

Moving a bit further towards the end of the finale, I feel like Hanna kind of contradicted this powerful scene. I think that Hanna jumping to the conclusion that Candace was the reason behind her house being destroyed was just a major step backwards from what we saw in the hotel room.

Screenshot_21

It is hard to believe that she loves her daughter when she instantly assumes the WORST about Candace. Seriously, go back and watch the episode before the finale along with the first 10 minutes of the finale. Hanna jumps down on Candace extremely hard, and I really did feel sorry for her.

The downside was that Candace was telling half-truths to Benny and Hanna about everything that she had recently acquired. She was telling the truth about being legit when it came to the subject of paying for the houses, car(s) and Tow Company.

screenshot_6

However, she refused to tell how she came into her money…

Hanna did not mince words when it came to the subject of Candace getting her a car, and knowing that she would not accept it by giving it to her personally. That was why she had Erica sell it to Benny, and he gave it to Hanna.

She was not buying it, but for once…Candace was thinking of her mom. That was a truly sweet sentiment, but how she got the money for the vehicle was not.

After discovering that Candace has no money, Hanna and Benny left Candace to her own devices. We then see Hanna refuse to stay in a house that she knew was not bought by ill-gotten money.

Overall, we saw Hanna take the highroad by stating that she loved her daughter no matter how. However, I feel like she backtracked during the last few episodes of Season 3.

Screenshot_11

You must admit that despite everything, Hanna will not tolerate anyone mistreating her child. Remember that she put her foot down when she discovered Candace being held hostage by the Cryers. Candace seems to be the fork in the road when it comes to her friendship with Katheryn.

Funny how some fans view Hanna’s refusal of anyone else hurting her child, but she lays her hands on her when she chooses (mostly through physical hits). Finding a black woman who has never struck her child is like trying to find a woman that Jim has not slept with…

hannah-qunicy-hahn

The final subject of this blog is going to cover Hanna and Quincy Jr. It goes without saying that Hanna is the BEST person to take care of him, and I know that subject has caused a rift between HAHN fans.

I’ve said it on Twitter, multiple blogs and Facebook posts; Hanna IS a better “mother” than Candace.

Hear me out, Hanna has made mistakes and is somewhat responsible for how Candace turned out. However, Candace IS capable of becoming a good person. Just as Hanna did, Candace can change her life around for the better. Hanna pointed out multiple times that Candace has not had that “awakening moment” in her life that will make her give herself to Christ.

ep101-own-hhn-11-600x411

This is one of the primary reasons that there is a rift between her and Candace. If you ask me, Hanna is somewhat haunted by Candace. Her daughter is pretty much the living embodiment of Hanna’s past life, and looking at Candace must be like looking at past self in a mirror.

ep203-own-hhn-2-949x534

Candace’s presence makes Veronica’s skin crawl because of the same reason. The two are more alike than they would care to admit, and Candace is the “Have Not” version of Veronica when you compare the two.

I honestly do not feel that I need to go into a full explanation of why Hanna is the better caretaker for Quincy Jr. because I have stated it in past blogs.

Screenshot_17

The bottom line is this: Candace knew that her son was alive, but instead of looking for him with her many contacts, she was living it up in New York with Oscar!

Just that one statement alone should tell you where her true allegiance lies; with herself! Again, I do think that she has the potential to become a loving mother, and a good person. However, that has not happened yet…

During the “Quincy Jr. Saga”, Hanna’s character was a bit strained in terms of her doing some lowdown things in her favor. Things like getting Aaliyah the social services worker to bend the rules in order to increase her chances of getting her grandson. I mean the woman almost lost her job because of Hanna.

Not to mention, Hanna was quick to tell her about Candace’s evil ways. I mean that was a mother talking bad about her child, BUT you have to realize that it was done with Quincy Jr. in mind.

11863266_10204920113469209_613813163746399775_n

Given the circumstances, I can see why she did what she did. The last time Candace took him away, he was being abused! As the doctor stated, if Benny had not brought him to the hospital when he did…he might have died from his wounds being infected!

Some fans did bring up a good point about Hanna having Quincy Jr. would have been no better than Quincy having him. The reason behind that is Quincy made their son think that Candy Cane didn’t want anything to do with him. Hanna might have done something similar in terms of keeping him away from Candace.

I can see where the fans are coming from because in either scenario, Candace would have still been separated from her son. However, I think that after Hanna saw a true change in her daughter, she would have allowed her back into Quincy Jr.’s life.

Screenshot_12

My biggest concern is her house being destroyed, and a sight visit is fast approaching! I wonder how Hanna is going to get out of this mess!

In the end, Hanna reminds me of my own mother in some ways. She is a strong black woman with a fear of God in her heart. However, she is also a parent (a black mother!) and she does not mess around!

If you ask me, she IS a Christian in my book! However, she is rough around the edges like a lot of people. She has her faults, but who doesn’t?

Screenshot_25

Do you think that she is a Christian or a hypocrite?

Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots Theory: Do You Feel Sorry for Candace?

By Jeremy Carden

11907208_914450651960723_2040476160599964211_n

With the Season 3 finale finally over, I have been asked about which blog will be posted first. There have been so many things going through my mind since Tuesday night, and I have not written a blog because it is difficult to know where to begin!

Screenshot_24

The most requested blog from my readers is on the subject about my feelings towards Candace. More specifically, I have been asked whether or not I felt sorry for what she went through in the finale.

Considering that 3 seasons have come and gone, I will mainly focus on Season 3 (with some evidence from the previous 2 seasons). There is just so much to cover, but I feel that most of her real character development came from Seasons 2 and 3.

I am referring to her being abducted by the Malones, seeking revenge on Jim and her behavior throughout the most recent season. As you can see, it is a blending of the second part of Season 2 and the majority of Season 3.

the-haves-and-have-nots-own-ratings

At the start of Season 2, Jeffrey warned Candace about messing around with the Cryers. It was during this time that Candace revealed a bit about her background. She told Jeffrey that she fears NOTHING, but he was quick to call her out for that. He mentioned that it was a scary thought to even process. A person who fears nothing has nothing that they care about or love. That was a truly defining moment, and it makes a lot of sense when you think about it.

Overall, I think it is safe to assume that Quincy Jr. and Benny are the two things that she will protect with everything that she has. This was what I originally thought until we saw that Candace’s fears Quincy more than she cares about anything.

Remember that Candace split the scene after learning that Quincy had been to the hospital. However, it was not mentioned that he attacked Aaliyah and took documents from her purse. We know that it had the location of Candace’s house, and that is why Quincy knew where she would be in the finale.

Instead of going in the room to see her son, Candace left the hospital in a hurry. It was plain to see that her fear of Quincy trumped everything else. I mean there were a few cops in the hospital after he came the first time. This was the final straw that broke the camel’s back, and that is why Hanna was given custody of Quincy Jr.

ep131-own-hhn-12-949x534

After her experience with the Malones, we know that Candace fears death. No matter how fearless she “pretends” to be in order to intimidate her enemies; Candace is not as invulnerable as she tries to be.

She was literally in tears while pleading for her life before one of the Malone boys pulled the trigger (right next to her head). I thought it would have been a major wakeup call for her, and that she would finally begin to see the error of her ways. Jeffrey’s words had come to pass about the Cryers being ruthless, and she lost everything when she returned to her apartment. Jim had removed Amanda’s things along with Candace’s possessions.

However, she went right to Warlock for a plan to exact revenge on Jim! This confirmed that she had learned nothing from her last encounter with Jim except for how to get back at him.

ep132-own-hhn-5-949x534

Her role in the later part of Season 2 was simply her on the run from Quincy until she had the right time to strike back at Jim. We caught glimpses of her fear of Quincy when Warlock told her that he was out of prison, and after she found out that Amanda was “dating” him.

Now we move into Season 3, and this is the part of Candace’s story arc that makes me feel a bit like “she got what she deserved” when I look at the things that happened to her towards the end of the season.

Fans are going on and on about how Candace didn’t deserve this, Candace didn’t deserve that and whatnot.

12072721_1261576870535095_112248355617356106_n

It is almost as if everyone has forgotten about her abducting Jim from his home, and had him in the “War Room” during the night before his press conference.

Think about ALL of the things that she did to him before finally letting him go:

  • She recorded the entire thing
  • He was sexually abusing and making him worship her
  • Strapped him to an electric chair
  • A horde of transsexuals came into the mix for photos
  • Numerous contracts giving her his car, a statement of him being insanely in love with her, etc.
  • Extorted $7.4 million from his bank account

screenshot_6

Overall, Candace broke Jim’s spirit! It was bad enough that he received a beating from Quincy the night before, and now Candy Cane broke him down even further!

That bus pass and his experience in the ghetto was something that I am sure he will never forget. The icing on the cake was finding out his daughter had killed herself the night that he was kidnapped.

ep134-own-hhn-8-949x534

However, it is worthy of note that if Jim was not kidnapped; Amanda was going to shot him because he was “Moe.”

Back to Candace, she now has millions in her bank account. What is she going to do now?

HHN_C2_Wyatts-Nightmare_018

Towards the halfway point of Season 2, she told Jeffrey that she was moving down to Atlanta to start over (it was mentioned that Quincy’s mother had moved down to Atlanta; keep that in mind for potential plot material in Season 4).

War told her that with some money in her pockets and Quincy out looking for her; Candace’s best move would be to split town.

Instead of listening to the wise thug’s advice, she decided to stay in town. Her reasoning was to live it up in Jim’s face. We all know that the best revenge is rubbing success in another person’s face right?

Too bad that led to her getting knocked down flat on her face on multiple occasions in Season 3…

Screenshot_9

After acquiring her ill-gotten funds, it appeared that Candace did not have any plans about getting involved with another man for quite some time. That was until Oscar entered the picture, and even Candace was quick to call him out for not being who he appeared to be.

Eventually, she allowed him into her life by giving her advice on auctions. This eventually led to the two getting into bed until Hanna knocked on her hotel door looking for Benny.

She then cuddled with Oscar the entire night, and then went to Hanna’s house the next morning.

Screenshot_33

Similar to her being abducted by the Malones, I was under the impression that Candace would tone down her ways after learning that her son was still alive. She was originally under the impression that Quincy Jr. was killed by Quincy.

Sadly, this was not true at all…

The morning of Amanda’s funeral, Candace went to Hanna’s house and was informed that her son WAS still alive!

Screenshot_25

Hanna said it best by telling Candace that instead of going to Amanda’s funeral (where she had no business going in the first place); she should be using her “resources” to find out where her son was! I will get into this point later because it speaks so much truth.

Maggie, David and Jeffrey said that with Amanda dead and the Cryer family in mourning; Candace had no reason to go to see Jim!

According to Candace, she just wanted to “pay her condolences.” That was basically her poking the dog with a stick as David put it. Now Candace has done some lowdown things throughout the series, but this was just too much if you ask me.

ep108-own-hhn-3-600x411

The man who you extorted money from and humiliated had just lost his daughter! Not to mention she was indirectly responsible for her suicide by using her as a pawn to get at Jim.

Honestly, this is another argument in itself because of the “he said/she said” debate regarding Professor Cannon. You know the scenario of what would have happened if Candace did not persuade Amanda to try and “seduce” Cannon into giving her a makeup exam in the first place; would she have gotten raped?

Screenshot_26

It truly was a disgusting sight when she was throwing herself in front of Jim and Katheryn. Jeffrey, Wyatt and Hanna were trying to get her away from the Cryers. Even David and Veronica were trying to get her to leave the cemetery because she had no business there to begin with.

Finally, Katheryn invited her to the mansion. Hanna and Jeffrey told her to NOT enter that front door…

We all know it led to her being knocked out cold with that bottle, which she deserved!

Screenshot_11

She actually told the truth for once (well a half truth) about Amanda killing herself most likely as a result of being raped. However, she made it seem as if it was Jim’s fault by saying that Amanda was not doing anything that anyone else was doing in order to pass. That made it seem like Jim told Amanda that while she was in the hospital after trying to take her own life through a pill overdose.

It was actually her being raped by Cannon, and THEN taking those pills that made Amanda go into the hospital! Candace was flipping the script to make Jim feel guilt for the situation!

Screenshot_17

From there, Candace got closer and closer to Oscar. Another thing that made me want Hanna to gain custody of Quincy Jr. came in the form of Candace going to New York with Oscar.

Why is that a bad thing?

She KNEW her son (who she thought was dead for the past 3 years) was alive, and traveled from Georgia to New York instead of looking for him!!! Say what you want about Hanna being a fake Christian or a hypocrite, but down at the core that woman loves and cares for that little boy more than his own mother does!

hannah-qunicy-hahn

Hanna took care of him for the first couple of years of his life (2 or 3 years), but Candace came and took him back. This led to him being “killed” by Quincy (really in Quita’s “care” for 3 years while Quincy was in jail).

For Candace to have the nerve to try and get custody was something else. Yes, I know that she is his mother. It actually appeared that she was going to take care of him A LOT better than she did after taking him away from Candace all of those years ago. She had a nice house, money and was on route to become a lawyer.

12011162_10153592432058119_8676135903021593258_n

However, we all know that those things were achieved through extortion, greed and cheating. None of those things were acquired the through hard work and honesty.

Hanna said it best when she told Candace that she could provide Quincy Jr. with a stable home and love because he was the apple of her eye. The only danger that I saw with him staying with Hanna was that Quincy would be looking around for him at her house. This turned out to be correct after he drove a car through it!

Candace has far too many enemies, and the fact that her house was bought under such false pretenses means that it would eventually fall (her money is gone so she can’t afford to keep it!).

Screenshot_11

Again, I do not doubt that Candace loves Quincy Jr. but she is more in love with her dangerous way of living and a fear of Quincy that trumps even her own son!

Finally, I can get into the finale itself! I have wanted to write on this for awhile. Hanna and Benny confronted Candace about her quick rise to the “Have” status.

10984560_10204611420592080_2284267171508690971_n

In the near future, I will write a blog about Hanna’s character throughout Season 3. For now, I will say that she did come down a bit too hard on Candace. She did not give her the benefit of the doubt, but has Candace actually given Hanna any proof of doing something for someone other than herself?

The proof is in the pudding, and Candace has never been seen stirring a bowl…

Hanna was a bit quick to blame Candace for destroying her house. I will admit that was a bit harsh, and even Benny called her out for it.

For once, Candace WAS telling the truth to Hanna and Benny. However, she was only revealing what she wanted to. I mean she told them about the amount of money she acquired. Not to mention the cars, houses and tow company were legit.

They were paid for in a legit fashion, but the way that she got the $7 million was not!

11048789_10204621639727552_6634014334107443968_n

Benny eventually sided with his mother after finding out that Candace lied to him about where she worked. I have an older sister, and I know when it comes to siblings there is a relationship. It is one thing to lie and hide things from our parents. However, when one of us lies to the other about something; it is a problem! It makes sense why Benny felt betrayed after everything they had been through together.

He went behind Hanna’s back to foreclose on the house to pay for Candace’s hospital bills after being beaten nearly to death by Quincy. Then he lied to Hanna about how he got the house/tow company, and that was out of character for him.

Now for Candace to lie to him about her job and how she bought all of these new things really pierced him through the heart!

Within the first 10 minutes of the episode, Candace lost her connection to her family. Then it was discovered that one of the few men that she has trusted in her life had now betrayed her by taking her money (Oscar).

12036631_10205157864852845_7075788191364366444_n

After finding out that Oscar was a fraud, she attempted to murder him. He then tackled her to the couch, and just as it appeared that she had been rescued by an unknown friend; it turned out to be Quincy.

I guess that if anyone was going to beat on Candace, Quincy was going to be the only one to do it!

For what seemed to be 20 minutes of a merciless beating, Jeffrey came into the house and carved Quincy’s back like a Thanksgiving turkey! That was where Season 3 came to an end, and a pool of blood was expanding on Candace’s floor.

Alright, now the question remains about how I feel regarding Candace’s fall in the season finale.

Do I feel sorry for Candace?

Yes…and no…

I am not saying that as a copout answer, but I do feel like a seesaw when thinking about the question.

Screenshot_41

Overall, I am not a person who goes “HA, YOU GOT WHAT YOU DESERVE!” (Most of the time…) However, Hanna said what goes around comes around. Candace has been on the top for this entire season, and it was good to see her knocked from her high horse (literally).

Screenshot_29

The same can be said about Veronica, but I think her comeuppance will come soon or later. We got a taste of this during Maggie’s visit to her house in the episode before the finale.

I was ok with her losing the money because it was not hers to begin with, but I still cannot see why Oscar willingly went back to Candace’s house after taking the money. I know his career is about reclaiming assets for the people he is hired by, but I am assuming he has never dealt with a “mad black woman” before. If he had, I am sure that he would have known better than to go to her house!

Screenshot_6

Another blog I will do soon is going to be on my thoughts about Oscar being revealed to be a false persona. Don’t worry if you feel that I did not discuss it a lot in this post, but I will get to it soon enough.

I was a bit saddened to see her heart crushed because Oscar was probably the first man that she had ever felt something for instead of conned. However, she was broken just as Jim was earlier in the season.

Candace’s beating was frightening to see, but I think the worst part was seeing the fear in her eyes. I mean her family walked out on her, all of her money was gone, the man she began to fall for turned out to be a fake and unknown to her was Hanna getting custody of Quincy Jr.

However, I feel that none of that compared to Candace’s fear of Quincy becoming a reality when he stepped out of the shadows.

11988408_1259347714091344_8947682856119250085_n

The way that she attempted to flee, but was thrown down to the floor was heart wrenching to watch. Sure she was getting beaten, but hearing her cries for Quincy to stop made me cringe.

It truly was a horrifying thing to witness! Again, she did have a lot to answer for, but even I couldn’t take watching it finally happen.

You could just see the fear in her eyes as Quincy wrapped his hands around her throat…

11178188_1259532994072816_4304584695600378353_n

Now that Quincy has died (still not sure if he is really dead), she now has to find a way to dispose of the body and deal with Jim (because she thinks he is responsible for Oscar). Season 4 will open up with Candace having to deal with far more problems than solutions.

With all of that being said, I do not feel sorry for Candace in the sense that she got what was coming to her; the money being returned to its rightful owner, her family learning the truth behind her lies, etc.

I did feel sorry for her nearly being beaten to death because that is something no one deserves to go through. Especially when a man is putting his hands on a woman!

12039176_852045614891056_7678163664381958652_n

Then seeing someone that she finally opened up to turning out to be a façade was a tough pill to swallow as well…

Candace lost pretty much everything except for her life in this finale.

10429292_10203512756166156_8433209555738058773_n

When you think about it, Candace went through almost the same thing that Jim did. Remember in the Season 2 finale, Celine was told off by Jim when all she wanted was for him to be a father to Carlos. Jim wrote her off as someone who just wanted money, and he did not want to have anything to do with her or his son(s). This was right after he covered up Wyatt’s hit-and-run charges with Norman, and he then lied to Amanda’s face about his affair with Candace.

Sad to say that was the last time that he ever saw his daughter alive, and for him to have lied to her…Jim truly regretted that decision…

That was when everything started to fall apart for him in the finale. Like Candace, he was beaten down by Quincy. His lies were starting to come into the light in front of his family, and his life began to crumble as well. Like how he lost his daughter, most of “his” money (really Katheryn’s) and his political career.

The-Haves-and-the-Have-Nots-Season-1-Episode-20-Unanswered-Calls

Candace “lost” her son to Hanna, “her” money is gone and her law career is in shambles thanks to her never getting another letter from Professor Cannon (before he got killed) allowing her to skip to the bar exam.

Screenshot_33

Veronica is coming out as one of the front runners of the show in terms of “the one character you love to hate.” However, the main plot of the series is still revolving around Jim and Candace.

Deep down, I believe that no one is above redemption. Candace still has the chance to see the errors of her ways, and start living a life pleasing to God. That is what Hanna told Benny, and why she did not believe that she had a real job.

She said it best by telling Benny that when a person truly has a godly experience and breakthrough; you will see a true change in them and how they are living their life. Candace has yet to see the light as Hanna did in the past. This is why Hanna does not trust Candace, but I will get into that subject in another blog.

11880626_10204917851572663_1569380142509859390_n

I do believe she can become a good mother and person, but she has to realize that her current way of living is not good for anyone; especially herself!

I am very interested in seeing where things will go for Candace in Season 4. Needless to say, I think the same can be said for everyone of us!

12009551_10208079037197198_4505557093934046586_n

Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots Theory: Will Jennifer Give Wyatt Immunity?

By Jeremy Carden

11907208_914450651960723_2040476160599964211_n

We’ve all heard of children lashing out against their parents, and wanting them to pay for any punishment that they have dealt out.

Screenshot_36

However, Wyatt is the problem child of the series (not that he is the only one) when it comes to him wanting his parents to pay. Sure, Jeffrey has PLENTY of reasons to turn against his parents like Wyatt or Candace. However, he has a good heart even when his mother is insanely overbearing.

Screenshot_15

Recently, Jennifer (the D.A.) has presented Wyatt with a deal; blow the whistle on his parents for placing him in jail, and he will not get ANY jail time!

Wyatt was skeptical at first, but it seems like he will give in! He had better get that agreement in writing!

Screenshot_46

Jeffrey will take Wyatt to Benny’s towing company, and he discovers the black sedan has been there all along. This was the key piece of evidence that Veronica was trying to have destroyed since Season 2, and Jennifer’s boss told her that she would need the car prior to pursuing the Cryer/Harrington families again.

12049586_10205128023386827_7406724081878125226_n

In the preview for the finale, we see Wyatt sitting in Jennifer’s office. We can possibly assume that Jeffery shows Wyatt where the car is. Afterwards, he goes to Jennifer’s office with the information and evidence that she needs.

Even though the finale might end with Jim calling for all 3 killers to pursue their targets (Veronica/Professor Cannon/Terrell), Jennifer might come after them with warrants for their arrest since Wyatt provided her with the information that she needed!

The question is whether or not Jennifer will really keep her end of the bargain and allow Wyatt to walk away without so much as a slap on the wrist.

ep127-own-hhn-5-949x534

It has been difficult to pinpoint what her intentions truly are. Does she want justice for Benny and Little Lizzie? Does she want to stick one to Jim and David more than anything else?

Honestly, I think that she wants both, but getting back at David and Jim means more to her.

Screenshot_32

Wyatt is the weak link in the Cryer family, and Jennifer knows it. I am not saying that she is not a woman who keeps her word, but it does strike me as strange that she would let a killer walk away…

Let’s take a look at past situations when Wyatt thought that he was getting revenge on someone that had done him wrong, and how that actually played out for him in the end:

  • Wyatt plans on revealing Jeffrey’s homosexuality to David and Veronica

Jeffrey pops Wyatt in the back of the head with a golf club, and he storms off in a rage to a crack house. This results in him getting high and getting into the hit-and-run to begin with…

ep111-own-hhn-9-365x240

  • Wyatt tells Candace that Amanda is Jim’s weak spot

After Wyatt accusing Candace of sleeping with his father, Jim confronted Wyatt in his office. He belittled his son (while lying to his son about the affair), and his words did more damage to Wyatt than any amount of drugs or alcohol.

Angered by the experience, Wyatt told Candace that bringing up the apple of his father’s eye (Amanda) would get him very worked up. The end result was Amanda moving in with Candace, and that indirectly ended up in her suicide.

  • Wyatt confesses to the D.A.

He tried to destroy his parents and the Harringtons for covering up the hit-and-run charges. This blew up in his face when he discovered that his parents could have cared less!

Screenshot_30

  • Wyatt runs his mouth

Calling Jim out of his name for many episodes and saying that he wasn’t there for Amanda landed him with an ass-whopping and thrown into “prison.”

Screenshot_6

  • Wyatt tells off Veronica

Nothing to say here except for Wyatt getting raped by Toxic…

Screenshot_34

As you can see, anytime that Wyatt thinks that he has gotten the better of someone; he ends up getting hurt as a result!

Perhaps Jennifer DOES let Wyatt off the hook; I still think that in some way he will pay for telling on them. Keep in mind that he did not find out about Veronica being the one to place Toxic into his jail cell until Jennifer told him about it!

Screenshot_14

Do you think that Jennifer will let Wyatt go free, or will he be taken down along with his family and the Harringtons?

Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots Theory: Will Celine Kill Jim?

By Jeremy Carden

11907208_914450651960723_2040476160599964211_n

Last week proved to be an episode where hidden lies have finally crept out of the darkness!

Jim showed that he really is someone who pursues revenge like no one else! I mean Veronica and Candace are other contenders for the coldest character in the series (especially since Veronica is the Ice Queen), but Jim…

It is one thing to get even with someone, but to humiliate them by crushing their emotions is just on another level!

Screenshot_20

True, Celine did embarrass Jim in front of the entire country on national television during his announcement that he was running for governor. However, Jim tore her heart to pieces!

At first glance, it would seem that Celine did Jim worse than he did her. From my perspective, I think it was the other way around.

haves and have nots 49

Remember that Jim never really wanted to run for governor to begin with. During Season 1, he told Candace and David that he was willing to just walk away from everything because it was just too much. Whether or not it was him being fed up with playing the façade that he had been living ever since he married Katheryn, or if he had hit a midlife crisis when he turned 50; Jim never really had the goal of being governor. If anything, it was something that was just forced upon him by other people’s expectations of him.

Screenshot_36

David wanted to run more than Jim, and the only reason he did not run was because the current governor told him that Georgia was not ready for an African American governor (in not so many words).

Even Katheryn says that it was a relief that Jim was not running because she did not want to go through all of the things to come with living in the governor’s mansion.

With that being said, Celine crushed Jim’s “dream” of running for governor and it led to him being publicly humiliated. However, you have to once again remember that it had been a few weeks that he was actually planning on running for governor.

Screenshot_41

Here is why I think that Jim hurt and embarrassed her even more than she did to him; Jim destroyed the heart of someone that had been pinning for him for just about 28 years!

Remember that their affair lasted practically as long as Jim had been married to Katheryn! After being dragged out of Katheryn’s house, left taking care of 2 kids by herself (with $270,000 a year from Jim) and being a maid of all jobs for the man who “fathered” her children; Celine was destroyed last week!

Screenshot_40

Jim comes over to her apartment and after all of the attempts of seducing him throughout Seasons 1 and 2 to have sex with her! After saying that he loved her and whatnot, he revealed that he NEVER loved her, he was never coming back and Celine was only going to receive a small amount of child support for that “little bastard!”

I must admit that it was a low blow to call his youngest son by Celine a little bastard because that IS his son whether he likes it or not!

It was Jim’s way of “getting even” with Celine for what she did to him on television, but Jim got the better of her (in my opinion).

April-1

His rejection and belittling of her was just the wake-up call that Celine needed after throwing herself at Jim for nearly 30 years! Almost 3 decades of thinking a man was in love with her was destroyed in less than 30 seconds!

She screams that the two of them are not even, and that has led some fans to believe that the man who ordered the bloodbath would be the one to be drowning in one himself…

Tragic-1

The question now is whether or not Jim will be the one who is killed! Celine knows where his campaign office is, and of course knows where he lives.

Wouldn’t it be ironic if Jim is killed at his home like he was originally intended to?

What do I mean by that?

Screenshot_15

Remember when Amanda was playing her deadly game of Eenie, Meenie, Miny, Moe? Here was the breakdown of her game:

Eenie = Wyatt

Meenie = Katheryn

Miny = Amanda/unborn child

Moe = Jim

Screenshot_30

If Candace did not have Warlock’s crew kidnap Jim, he was most likely going to die that night by Amanda!

That is why I would find it ironic if Jim does get killed by Celine in his home because he avoided a bullet at the end of Season 2. However, I am not sure if the same can be said about the finale of Season 3…

Tyler Perry has set the stage for David vs. Jim to occur in Season 4, and that is if Veronica is harmed in anyway because David will instantly think Jim was the cause.

With that being said, I would not surprise me if Jim is not killed. However, I am curious as to how Celine plans to get even with Jim if she doesn’t kill him.

Jim told Katheryn that Celine had already fired her biggest bullet (that she had 2 sons by Jim), but she has been their maid for over 20 years. That means she has a lot of dirt on the Cryers, and she is not afraid to use it.

Who do you think got the better of the other; Celine or Jim? Will Celine kill Jim? How will she get even with him?

Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots Theory: Maggie Is the Killer!

By Jeremy Carden

The season finale is coming soon! Tuesday will be here before you know it, and fans have been pulling out their hair because of their anticipation!

Who will die? Who will live? What lies will be brought to the surface? Whose chicken will come home to roost?

Screenshot_28

Now the title of this blog might have you thinking that I have Maggie Day pegged as the killer during the season finale. I suppose you could say that, or you should realize that she has already “killed” someone!

Who am I referring to?

Screenshot_29

It all occurred during last week’s episode, and her encounter with the Ice Queen herself!

The clip above was my FAVORITE part of last week’s episode!

Maggie revealed to Veronica that she knows about her affair with 23-year-old Benny Young, but has not blown the whistle on her to David.

When Veronica asks why Maggie has not snitched to David, she tells her that it has to do with timing. From there, Maggie reveals her plan to have David run for governor.

Screenshot_27

Veronica scoffs at the idea because she thinks that Maggie has her own hidden agenda. Maggie brought up the fact that Veronica would not shy away from being the First Lady, but Veronica is quick to call her potential bluff.

I mean when you look at things from Veronica’s perspective (I can’t believe that I just said that), you would also be suspicious of Maggie’s intentions. Sure, Maggie was 100% honest with Veronica about how she feels about David. I will give her the credit she deserves, but she was still chasing after a man who is married!

The fact that Maggie said that she did not reveal Veronica’s affair to David because of timing has me thinking that she has a hidden agenda. She could be trying to get David in the governor’s mansion, and wait for Veronica to blow the marriage (which she has already done) before making her move.

Screenshot_35

Like it or not, Maggie is potentially the most dangerous and cunning character on the show in her own way. It has never been revealed if her persuading Veronica to bail out Quincy from prison was a “double agenda.” We know that her intention was getting Q out in order to get Candace under control to stop her from ruining Jim’s campaign. However, she might have anticipated a man that has been in prison for 3 years would be instantly attracted to the first woman that he laid eyes on after all of that time; Veronica was most likely the first woman her has seen in 3 years!

screenshot_18

That could be why he was so persistent with having sex with her on multiple occasions! I don’t know…Maggie might have planned that out. Aside from having Q being a dog off the lease, she could also use that as ammo against Veronica if she blows the whistle to David about it!

So at this point, Maggie knows about Veronica’s affair with Benny AND has the proof of Veronica bailing Q out of jail! Veronica told David that she did that at the Sarandon Hotel, and caused an even bigger rift in their marriage.

Veronica is basically doing Maggie’s dirty work for her, and she is running her own marriage as a result. This is EXACTLY what Maggie has been trying to do all along!

David told Veronica that the breaking point of their marriage would be if she has been screwing around behind his back, and that was right before she handed him the divorce papers.

Maggie has the final bullet needed to kill the Ice Queen, but has yet to pull the trigger…

You are probably wondering who she “killed” last week, and I will tell you the person that she killed.

Did you notice the two masks that were hanging on the wall near the front door of Veronica’s new house?

As she was leaving, Maggie said that she loved the décor of Veronica’s new house. What made this scene even more perfect that it already was involved Maggie bringing up something that was mentioned during her first meeting with Veronica.

Do you recall the first encounter of Maggie, Veronica and Katheryn? It was during the early episodes of Season 2 after she agreed to be Jim and David’s campaign manager. Maggie had a brief meeting with their wives to introduce them to her strategy for the campaign.

Screenshot_33

Never one to beat around the bush, Maggie noted that Veronica’s wardrobe and fashion sense was too flashy. After she left, it was clear that she did not make friends with Veronica and Katheryn.

When she was leaving Veronica’s house, she mentioned that the décor was nice without being too flashy. Veronica then threw the folder containing the photos of her and Benny at Maggie. It did not hit her intended target, but it knocked down one of the masks on the wall.

After Maggie closed the door, Veronica fell to the floor in tears and frustration. If you ask me, the mask hitting the ground was almost a form of symbolism.

The two masks could represent different things about Veronica’s personality:

  • One mask represented the facade Veronica had regarding her marriage
  • One mask represented the facade of Jeffrey NOT being gay

Maggie’s speech to Veronica about how David loved her and did not have an affair “killed” one of Veronica’s personalities.

Screenshot_43

The persona or “mask” that wanted revenge against David for cheating on her!

Yes, Maggie Day “murdered” someone in last week’s episode!

Now the mask falling on the floor (with Veronica doing the same) reminds me of the expression about picking your face up off of the ground.

Screenshot_39

In the finale, it appears that Veronica is going to try correct two of her mistakes:

  • She tries to cut ties with Benny by ending their affair, but it does not look like he wants that to happen
  • She goes to David’s office and tells him to take the opportunity by running for governor

Screenshot_37

She is even seen on stage beside David as Jim is about to give his speech about dropping out of the race for office, but it is unknown whether or not he will bow out or continue to run.

What has me curious is if Jim does decide to quit the race, will David walk to the podium and reveal that HE is running?

Screenshot_36

He did not want to run without consulting his “friend” Jim, but for him to be pushed in that direction by his wife…this finale is going to be interesting to say the least.

It is still unknown if the impact of Veronica learning the truth about her husband’s affair will cause her to think twice about how she has treated Jeffrey (the second mask on the wall), but I could see her potentially being killed in the finale.

Aside from the hit that Jim put out on her (as well as Cannon and Terrell), it would not surprise me if the Ice Queen gets killed just as she is trying to make things right in her life. After all of the harm she has caused, Veronica has a lot to answer for.

Screenshot_7

I know my whole theory on the masks being symbolism for Veronica’s personality might be a result of me reading too much into this, but I’m a HAHN addict (this is what I do)! If the masks were actually written into scene for symbolism, I give applause to whoever put that in there!

Screenshot_1

Also, I am a sucker for continuity, and Maggie Day delivered by referencing what she first told Veronica about her flashy personality! If I am not mistaken, I read somewhere that Maggie was not even supposed to be in the series for this long. However, that changed and she has become a major player at the HAHN table if you ask me.

Somehow, the Grinch’s heart also grew three sizes that day, but is it enough for Veronica to make peace with her family?

Screenshot_34

Will David and Jeffrey forgive her? Will Veronica call off the wedding that she posted about in the newspaper? Is Maggie trying to take the position as First Lady for herself? Will Veronica die in the finale?
