Pokemon XY&Z Rant: Why Ash Losing the Kalos League Was Disappointing

By Jeremy Carden

I understand that this topic is something that has already been talked about until Pokemon fans were blue in the face. However, I just remembered that I made a video with my thoughts about the Kalos League finals not long after the episode aired in Japan.

ikouze__gekkouga___by_the3brawlers2014-d9yodl2

This is my rant video about the subject, and I hold nothing back:

As I mentioned in the video, it is not so much about Ash losing the match as it is about the execution of the battle.

XY118_13

I felt extremely bad for Pokemon fans that came back to the series after years of not watching it just to see Ash in the Kalos League. After Ash-Greninja almost defeated the Champion’s mega-evolved signature Pokemon, and Ash making it to the finals for the first time in his Pokemon training career, I know a lot of fans came back to see him win a league!

However, this was not meant to be due to the fact that we got a very poorly written finale which left a bad taste in the mouths of many Pokemon viewers.

sadfg

Just so you know, my video is about 24 minutes long, and I got into a lot of detail about the battle itself as well as alternative ways that it could have went down.

I watched the battle about 5 or 6 times to try to make some sense about what happened. That turned out to be a waste of time because it really made no sense.

Greninja_Ash2

The biggest thing that made me mad was the Water Shuriken that looked like it was on fire or something. It would have been a great way to see the limits of this ‘bond phenomenon’ as Professor Sycamore calls it in action.

This attack was promoted in the Kalos League teaser trailer, and it looked like it would be the climatic move of the league. It was, but there was no buildup whatsoever, and it was very forgettable in the grand scheme of things.

Ash_Ash-Greninja_Aerial_Ace

Heck, Ash vs. Sawyer should have been the finale battle. Not because Ash won, but because it was an epic battle! Seriously Ash-Greninja vs. Mega Sceptile has got to be more of my favorite battles out of the entire franchise.

250px-Ash_Greninja_Lumiose_Conference

Let me know your thoughts on Ash losing, and please watch the video before commenting. That is because I really go into the little bits of why this battle was not so great, and why it was a slap in the face to Pokemon fans during the 20th anniversary.

Dragon Ball Super: Will Cabba Have a New Super Saiyan Transformation?

By Jeremy Carden

It goes without saying that this Universal Survival Tournament is going to be insane! With 80 fighters in the same arena going at it in a battle royale, I think we are going to see a ton of new techniques and characters.

CcApDYIUkAAhU6O

We are going to be reintroduced to some of the Universe 6 fighters, and Vegeta’s protege from the Universe 6 vs. Universe 7 tournament is going to make his return to the ring.

Vegeta_Defeats_Cabba

However, we see that Cabba did not have complete control over the Super Saiyan transformation. Yes, he was able to transform on Vegeta’s command before he got knocked out by a Super Saiyan Blue-powered punch, but Cabba still has a long way to go.

tumblr_inline_oi0bvoHklh1r45iid_540

Considering that the only time we saw him after the tournament was during the baseball game episode, I think we can assume that he has been undergoing some intense training back on his home world.

12919674_980124892043126_8584196076261500822_n

The question is whether or not we will see Cabba reveal that he has either mastered his Super Saiyan power or unlocked a new transformation.

maxresdefault (3)

He does not have a tail meaning that we will not see a Great Golden Ape or anything of that level of power. Perhaps he will go Super Saiyan 2 or 3 and considering that a new form (since Goku and Vegeta did not utilize those levels during the matches).

Honestly, I would not be opposed to the young Saiyan using a new form of Super Saiyan that we have not seen before. I think this would be something fresh in terms of the series’ progression.

I know we just had Super Saiyan Rose, but it would be interesting for a Saiyan from another universe to have a Universe 6 exclusive form if you want to call it that.

ddc8b528e1e881deaf5c2b1acf2c77a2b9efb004_hq

Is it possible? I think it is not something that is completely impossible. Remember that the Universe 6 Saiyans evolved to the point that they no longer had tails. Yes, I know the standard Super Saiyan transformation was triggered by rage just like it is in Universe 6 (unless you are Goten and Trunks who transformed almost on instinct).

I go into more detail on my thoughts about Cabba in this video:

Overall, I am excited to see Cabba again. Regardless as to whether or not he gets a new form, I hope he is not easily knocked out of the tournament.

Tearful-Cabba

Do you think Cabba will have a new transformation or technique up his sleeve?

Dragon Ball Super: How Strong is Majin Buu?

By Jeremy Carden

maxresdefault (1)

After seeing Majin Buu back in the game after that awesome fight during the Omni-King’s exhibition matches, a lot of fans were excited that our favorite pink blob was still capable of pulling off a victory!

The problem is that a lot of fans have been scratching their heads about how powerful Buu really is.

Something we have to remember is that Fat Buu was the ‘original Buu’ that we saw in the series after he came out of his ball.

MajinBuuFatFirstApDBZ05

Honestly we never see Fat Buu’s full power before splitting into his good and evil counterparts. Remember that many characters like Piccolo and the Supreme Kai mentioned that Buu’s power was growing and growing.

After being held in captivity for so long in that ball, Buu’s power was compressed. The longer he was out of the ball, the more his power grew. It only makes sense after being in that ball for 1,000s of years!

Belly_attack_323

Goku pointed out during his battle with Majin Buu that no matter how much ki he put out as a Super Saiyan 3, Buu’s was going as well to match the Saiyan.

MajinBuuFatDefeatsGohan

When he first hatched, Gohan mentioned that his trying to sense Buu’s ki was like reaching into a bottomless pit. Buu would only show a hint of his true power when he was being serious or mad about something. An example of this is when Buu effortlessly gauged out Dabura’s eyes and kicked him into a mountain. Then he went back to his playful demeanor.

Majin_buu_contra_Buu_Maldad_Pura

Eventually, Buu split into Good Buu and Evil Buu. It was clear that the Good Buu did not even get 50% of Fat Buu’s power considering how easily Evil Buu was making sport of him.

Overall, I estimate Good Buu to be around 40%-45% of what he was as Fat Buu.

In this video, I go into even more detail about how powerful Good Buu is, and where I would rank him in terms of power:

What do you think about Buu’s power?

eb5ea8ed5cc173a8b72847738b2d0b7c879d938b_hq

Do you think he will get even stronger as the series goes on, or will his anger be the key for him fighting at his maximum? You never know, we might get some new transformations (even though we see Good Buu as himself at the end of Z)!

Dragon Ball Super: What Is Champa Planning?

By Jeremy Carden

Dragon_Ball_Super_logo

Beerus’ brother from Universe 6 has shown himself to be a pretty interesting character. We have not seen too much from him in the anime, but we have gotten a glimpse of his character in the manga.

We already know the basics in terms of who he is and what he does. Champa is Beerus’ brother from the universe connected to his. He is also a God of Destruction, and has an attendant (Vados) who assists him in his role.

beerus_and_champa_by_shugotenshix-d9kswrc

He and his brother used to fight in the past, but their brawls usually resulted in galactic destruction (as seen in a flashback in the manga). Because of the destruction linked to their physical confrontations, we learn that they now have food competitions. Basically, they compare foods from Universe 6 and Universe 7 to see which one has the best dishes.

Considering that they are brothers, I can understand that there is a natural rivalry between the two just like normal siblings. However, Chama seems to be hiding something from Beerus…

This goes back to the manga because he and Vados are trying to navigate around Universe 7 without being detected by Beerus.

uvnwk1wkceuypzzwowhk

When they are first seen in the manga, they see Beerus fighting against Goku on King Kai’s Planet. They use this opportunity to continue their search for the wish-granting orbs.

Later, they detect Whis and Beerus going to Earth (in the search of the Super Saiyan God), and Champa ventures to another part of the universe.

champa-pointe-le-bout-de-son-nez

Eventually, Old Kai and Kibito Kai are spotted spying on Champa and Vados. It was right after a planet was destroyed by the pair because it was not the one they were searching for.

The kais found out that they are looking for the Dragon Balls, and are approached by an irritated Champa. He demands to learn what they had overheard, but they denied hearing anything at all.

4to-manga-Dragon-Ball-Super-768x402

Soon after, Champa destroyed one of the Frieza Force ships that was searching for the Dragon Balls.

scan-del-cuarto-numero-del-manga-de-dragon

He and Vados decide to head back to their universe, but only after they find a souvenir for Beerus.

In anime, Whis and Beerus are heading towards Earth to witness the battle between the Super Saiyans and Golden Frieza. Whis notices someone else traveling a great speed, and it turns out to be his sister.

Dragon-Ball-Super-Champa-Arc (1)

Vados and Champa are face to face with Whis and Beerus. The two brothers stare each other down, and Champa orders Vados to take out Beerus. He says that the reason he does not want to fight is because he is too lazy. This mirrors what he said when he ordered Vados to destroy a planet because it was not one of the Super Dragon Balls.

Beerus demands to know what he is doing in his universe, but Champa says that it is nothing suspicious about it before departing. After that, Beerus and Whis continue on their journey to Earth. Champa and Vados go to another part of the universe to continue their search, and that is the last time that we will see them until the Champa Saga starts tonight!

zF1vZwz

In both the anime and manga, Champa seems to be hiding something from Beerus. We eventually learn that he is searching for the Super Dragon Balls which are planet-sized orbs.

Originally, I thought that both Universe 6 and 7 each had a set of these Super Dragon Balls.

dbsmanga1_zpsrwzkiyye

However, it turns out that all 7 are scattered between both universes, and Champa already has 6 of them.

He eventually arises on Beerus’ planet where he meets Goku and Vegeta. After another one of their food challenges, the two brothers setup a tournament between universes. The winner will get the Earth of Universe 7 (because of its delicious food), and take home the 6 Super Dragon Balls that have already been collected.

chozetsu_dynamic_cover_le

Everyone at this point who has been reading the manga knows what happens from this point forward. Both teams arrive at the tournament grounds, and the fight has already begun in Chapter 8 of the manga.

This is really where I need to stop because there is one huge unanswered question that still puzzles me…

Super_Dragon_Balls

Why was Champa gathering the Super Dragon Balls to begin with?

Beerus was unaware of the Super Dragon Balls, but Champa seems to have been collecting them for quite some time. Even time in fact that leads me to believe that he has traveled to Universe 7 on multiple occasions undetected in order to collect them all.

I find it hard to believe that the only reason he wanted to gather them was to get his hands on Universe 7’s Earth for the food. There is no need to use the balls for that because the winner of the tournament gets Earth.

tumblr_mvrqx9nkcn1qc1jg4o1_400

Not to say that he looks evil simply because he is a “Fat Beerus.” Remember that the Good Buu was fat while the Evil Buu was skinny.

He just seems to be hiding something that he does not want his brother to find out about. He could want to use the orbs to wish for control over all 13 universes, or that he was the most powerful God of Destruction.

4486126-dragon-ball-z-2015-movie-screenshot-12

Beerus confirmed in Battle of Gods that some of the universes out there bred beings more powerful than himself and Whis. Perhaps Champa does not want to be ranked in the lower tier of Gods of Destruction, and wants to achieve power through wishes rather than training.

He did say that he was lazy so it would not surprise me if he planned to wish his way to the top rather than actually earning.

At this point, I can only speculate so much about his true intentions, but I think it is safe to say that he is up to no good. Maybe there is another being from one of the other 11 universes that will arrive at the tournament to take the Super Dragon Balls for themselves.

dragon-ball-super-episode-28-preview-trailer-synopsis-universe-6s-god-of-des

The possibilities are endless, and I cannot wait to see what Champa really does have up his sleeves.

What do you think of this theory? Do you think that Champa is up to no good?

Dragon Ball Super: Have Goku and Vegeta Surpassed Beerus?

By Jeremy Carden

1500x500

I must say that the Dragon Ball Super manga has blown me away with such amazing storytelling and action! Even though there are multiple inconsistencies with the manga (and anime) when compared to the original Dragon Ball Z series, I still enjoy reading the manga chapters.

What I think is the most amazing thing about the Dragon Ball Super franchise is the fact that I get to follow it from start to finish. I did not get into the series until I was about 11-years-old, and by that time the manga was done. The anime (in the United States) was in the Kid Buu Saga, and I was fresh to the scene.

In this case, I got to see the Dragon Ball Super series begin with episode 1, and read the manga from Chapter 1. Overall, I just feel privileged to be living in a time like this!

dragon-ball-super-episode-19

Now, I am truly excited to see that Goku and Vegeta have finally begun training together. Considering that they are rivals, I think that their training is much more effective as a result. I can see them learning from each other, and really growing as a result. They are probably trying to one-up each other in their sparring sessions.

According to the manga, they trained in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for 3 years (3 days in our time). Looking past the obvious inconsistency here (only being able to use the room for 48 hours in a lifetime; established by Mr. Popo in DBZ), that is truly impressive!

hqdefault

I have heard that the Time Chamber was rebuilt after the Buu Saga, and it now allows visitors to use it for more than 48 hours total. Remember that it was destroyed during the battle between Super Buu and Gotenks (Piccolo blew up the door), and apparently rebuilt when the world was restored after being destroyed by Kid Buu.

Whis pointed out the flaws in each Saiyan as an individual, and taught them about how to control their new godly ki. Goku’s carefree attitude which made him vulnerable was the opposite of Vegeta’s uptight demeanor that prevents him from fighting at his maximum potential in a battle.

maxresdefault

At some point in the anime, Whis says that there was no longer a need to train the two Saiyans. During their sparring sessions together, the Saiyans’ innate fighting abilities resulted in them progressing much quicker than Whis had originally anticipated.

Overall, Whis’ goal was to get the Saiyans to become more in tune with their new godly ki. This was why he did not allow them to become Super Saiyan or beyond during their training, and only wanted them in base form to master their new powers. Even though Whis pointed out to the Oracle Fish (in the anime) that the Saiyans knew this which was why he never had to outright tell them to train in base form.

Screenshot_2

Beerus was annoyed by the constant noise that the Saiyans were making, and he told Whis to send him to “that place.” It turned out to be a Hyperbolic Time Chamber-like voice where Goku and Vegeta were surrounded by godly energy.

Whis told them that they must raise their powers without it leaking out of their bodies because it would alert their opponents to the power-up.

Screenshot_1

Vegeta noticed that until they mastered Whis’ tip, they would not be able to move at all in “that place.” He figured this out because Goku which once again shows that he is a better tactician than his Saiyan rival.

It is unknown exactly how long Goku and Vegeta were in “that place” training in order to master their new godly powers. Goku mentioned that the measurement of time in “that place” was different than the outside world.

SS_5

Eventually, Whis releases the two back into the real world. Like the length of time they were in “that place”, it is unknown how much more powerful the two had become. The only thing that we know came as a result was the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan transformation.

Screenshot_49

The one thing that I felt caught my attention during their time in “that place” was Whis’ staff. Goku figured that it was the only way of getting out of the void. Take a look at the picture above of Whis’ staff just floating there.

DBS

I always wondered what Goku and Vegeta’s walk towards the light in the opening theme of Dragon Ball Super was all about. After seeing them train, I think that I have figured it out.

zzjoD2O

From that same light, we see Beerus/Champa along with Whis/Vados descend to the front of our television (or computer) screens.

Overall, I think Goku and Vegeta approaching that light was their ascension to the level of gods. Then seeing the 4 gods mentioned above coming out from that light is proof of Goku and Vegeta trying to follow in their footsteps in order to reach a higher power.

giphy

This is further backed up by the fact that the next scene shows Goku, Vegeta, Gohan and Goten fighting off Frieza’s soldiers; which symbolized the Resurrection F saga which is happening now.

12316229_672381489571792_7139689757280640473_n

I guess one difference is that in the anime, Frieza powering up to his final form killed his remaining soliders before Goku and Vegeta could take them on; minus Vegeta killing Tagoma (well Ginyu).

tumblr_nydy1cSTY01rqe0rbo1_500

Alright, Whis mentioned that Goku and Vegeta had a chance at beating Beerus if they teamed up. Super Saiyan Blue is more powerful than Super Saiyan God, and this means SS Blue is more powerful than the 70% Beerus that we saw in the first movie.

Frieza_pounds_Goku

Individually, I do not think that SS Blue Goku or Vegeta could defeat Beerus. I think that is proven by the fact that Golden Frieza (before his ki began to fall) was more powerful than SS Blue Goku, but he was still frightened of Beerus.

photo

Beerus would probably need to exhaust around 85% or so to defeat the likes of Golden Frieza, and 80% for a single SS Blue opponent.

Again, that is just my opinion with a tiny bit of power scaling based on what has been seen from the movies.

hyperbolic-620x

Moving on with the Time Chamber training, Goku and Vegeta train in 10 times gravity for 3 years. During that time, it would not surprise me if the duo reached Super Saiyan Blue 2 and Super Saiyan Blue 3!

super_saiyan_blue

However, Akira stated in an interview that the SS2 and SS3 transformations were a thing of the past with the main focus being on SS1 because it was the form that utilized the least ki consumption and strain on the user’s body.

I do not know if SS Blue will be the last transformation that we will see in the series. Unless we get to see an SS Blue Vegito or Gogeta!

12279032_752677184876219_4481707266210295481_n

Something tells me that at some point during the Champa Saga or afterwards; Goku and Vegeta will fuse! I have already written a couple of blogs with my thoughts on that subject.

f2tpdq

Back to the subject of this blog, I do not see any reason why Goku and Vegeta have NOT surpassed Beerus after their 3 years of training. We are talking about a God of Destruction who does nothing aside from eating, sleeping and watching anime (Whis mentioned that to Goku and the others.

jlvhdzr

Compare that purple cat to a couple of warriors who eat, breathe and do nothing but train! I truly believe that their training has resulted in them surpassing the God of Destruction. Unless they get into a battle again with Beerus, I am not sure if they are even aware of their increase in power to the point of rivaling Beerus or surpassing him.

dbsuper-cartas2

I do not think that they have surpassed Whis, but I think a fusion between the two would give him one heck of a battle. Why? Given the time that the two have trained with each other instead of training separately against each other, I think it is safe to say that they know each other like the back of their hands.

Seeing if the two have truly mastered Whis’ training of their weaknesses is something that I would like to see. After the time spent fighting each other, I think they might have seen what makes the other Saiyan a genius in their own right. Vegeta’s polished and tactical strategies vs. Goku’s out-of-the box techniques that keep even the most dangerous opponents on their toes.

screenshot_301

Imagine a Gogeta or Vegito that is made up of a Goku and Vegeta that have trained/sparred together for YEARS! I think it is obvious that fusion would be a true blend on even terms of Goku’s relaxed nature and Vegeta’s tense demeanor.

4595745-whis_rof

Whis would be in for one heck of a fight if you ask me!

3 years is a long time, and the Saiyans know how to improve their skills in a short period of time. Just thinking about how much they could have advanced in 3 years is just unbelievable. I wonder if there are any of the Universe 6 opponents who are near the level of Goku and Vegeta now.

Universe-6-vs-Universe-7-dragon-ball-super-fighters

Do you think that Goku and Vegeta have surpassed Beerus? Did they reach a new transformation or fuse in the Time Chamber? Will there be anyone from Universe 6 that can truly give them a challenge?

Dragon Ball Super: Will Captain Ginyu Return?

By Jeremy Carden

GOT_YOU_1

I don’t know about you, but I am actually excited that we will see the Purple Power Ranger…I mean leader of the Ginyu Force make a return to the main series!

power-rangers

Seriously, with all of the poses that the team did, you would not be considered a fool if you thought they were the Power Rangers.

Frog_Ginyu_in_Super

Dragon Ball Super has made a couple of slight changes so far to the Resurrection F movie, and one that has caught the attention of fans was the appearance of Ginyu Frog after Frieza was brought back to life.

There is even an upcoming episode title that mentions Ginyu and his trademark Body Change technique! This will be the 22nd episode titled “Tagoma is it play a more power-ups to change the Ginyu and body.

Tagoma_headshot_RoF

Basically, it has all but been confirmed that Tagoma will somehow get swapped with Ginyu.

GinyuBulmaChange.Ep.089

In the anime filler, Bulma created a device which allowed Frog Ginyu to speak clear English. This led to her having her body switched with Ginyu because he communicated “Change!” outside of the native tongue of a Namekian Frog.

How will he change with Tagoma?

RoF5

My own personal theory is that he somehow changes bodies with the nameless frog solider (only referred to as Subordinate) in Frieza’s army who took orders from Sorbet in the anime/manga/movie because he is a humanoid frog.

It would not surprise me if he could speak a language understood only be frogs, and Ginyu changes with him before getting to Tagoma.

1444312618-73c33cd11ab9a3c4544610b524d50a6f

In any case, we will see Ginyu again with is enough for me! I wonder how far his character will be utilized in the war with Frieza. I doubt he will make that much of a difference such as switching bodies with the likes of Goku or Beerus.

That would be interesting to see…

CaptainGinyuFrog

You never know where the series is going to take things!

I did find it interesting that Tagoma expressed more doubts about Frieza’s usefulness to their army by his revival due to his less than impressive appearance.

DXRD_Caption_of_Tagoma_recalls_Captain_Ginyu_talks_with_Frieza_next_to_Dodoria

We got to see a brief flashback of Tagoma on one of Frieza’s many planets, and he saw the space tyrant speaking with Dodoria and Ginyu. He only saw Frieza for a brief moment, but was not impressed at all.

Considering that he was not killed by Frieza in the anime like he was in the manga/movie, I am glad to see his role given a bit more depth in the series.

CaptainGinyuFrogEp93

Ironic that he was unimpressed by the midget Frieza, and he will eventually be turned into a tiny frog!

dragon-ball-z_web2

Apparently, he will train with Frieza during the 4 months before his arrival on earth. This will make Tagoma a very powerful warrior, and he will fight with Gohan before swapping bodies with Ginyu!

This could be the reason why Ginyu picked him to swap bodies with because Tagoma had become the most powerful warrior in Frieza’s army!

ShisamiVsPiccoloRoF2

I wonder if that was how Shisami got so powerful in the movie which made him able to fight toe-to-toe with Piccolo…

tumblr_inline_nkm606v00R1sowhjk

Hopefully, we will get some background information on Frieza’s training through flashbacks or something!

GinyubodyChange

What kind of role do you think Ginyu will play during Dragon Ball Super? Will he swap bodies with one of the Saiyans or Gods?

Pokemon XY & Z: Can Ash Defeat Alain?

By Jeremy Carden

ChariX-and-ChariY

Awhile ago, I made a blog about Ash and Alain facing each other in a battle of Mega Evolution! The suggested battle pitted Mega Charizard Y (Ash’s Charizard) vs. Mega Charizard X (Alain’s Charizard)!

tumblr_nnz6nr9k0q1qzrykgo1_r1_400

Based on the new opening for the XY & Z series, it appears that Ash will indeed battle Alain at some point in the series. This will most likely occur doing the Team Flare arc.

In the final episode of the Mega Evolution Special series, Alain went on another journey to figure a way to help Mairin’s Chespin. During the episode, it helped the Zygrade Core escape from Team Flare’s experiments.

However, it somehow fell ill after absorbing some of the energy created by the experiment on Zygrade.

tumblr_nx09y4AVyr1tmac17o1_500

Alain left in a rage with the goal of helping to finish the Mega Evolution Machine to help Chespin in order to make Mairin happy again.

With that being said, if Ash does run into Alain while trying to stop Team Flare from reaching their goal; they will clash!

Fans have speculated that Ash will fight Mega Charizard X with Greninja. It will lose to both Alain AND Sawyer’s Sceptile (or Mega Sceptile).

tumblr_inline_nxkhjs4DMa1rzvznf_500

The opening seems to suggest that a rift will come between Ash and Greninja from the back-to-back losses.

tumblr_nwzt4gypXh1t3wi9fo4_540

From there, the two will reconcile creating their once unbreakable bond which will give birth to Ash-Greninja!

It would be a cool thing to see Ash use Greninja against Mega Charizard X because it seems to be the Kalos Pokemon that Ash has the strongest bond with.

tumblr_nv4sl1zcRD1uy948eo1_500

True, Talonfalme evolved in order to save Ash from Moltres. Then Ash almost DIED trying to save Talonflame from falling into a volcano! However, I think it is safe to say that the bond between Ash and his frog is stronger!

Pokémon-XY-Mega-Evolution-terá-mais-uma-continuação-1

So, it will be up against the Alain’s Charizard; the Pokemon that he has the strongest bond with.

If you ask me, I would much rather see Ash use his Charizard against Alain because at some point there HAS to be a battle between both of its Mega Evolutions.

275

Ash-Greninja would be best suited to battling Sawyer’s Mega Sceptile because those two had a rivalry since their pre-evolved forms.

With informed revealed about the next few episodes, we know that Ash will finally get Greninja in about 3 episodes.

It is unknown if Ash-Greninja will truly make its debut in this episode battling Bisharp. When I say that, I’m referring to whether or not it will officially transform and Greninja will have full access to that power.

CRjoYn3UcAAPfx1

Compare it to the brief foreshadowing of their “fusion” during the finale of Ash’s battle with Olympia.

tumblr_nwn7l6PLgM1sr6y44o1_500

Now if I had to guess what would happen, I’d say that Ash and Greninja “merge” to defeat Bisharp due to Greninja losing during the first portion of the battle. From there, Ash-Greninja appears to seal the victory!

tumblr_nw9jm6vQfp1qbmz7eo1_540

However, it is unable to hold the form or remember how to use it after the battle. After losing to Alain (and perhaps Sawyer), the bond between trainer and Pokemon will slightly diminish. Then they will patch up the holes in their relationship for an even stronger bond.

Afterwards, Ash-Greninja is a form that can be freely used in battle. Just a theory, but I am sticking to it!

tumblr_static_tumblr_static_c0rl69qkvio8s4sswwk0480oo_640

Based on the opening, it appears that it will learn how to use Water Shuriken after evolving.

It is seen using a blade-like move against Mega Sceptile’s Leaf Blade so it is either Cut or Aerial Ace.

What appears to be Aqua Jet cannot be legit because none of the Froakie line can legally learn it in the games. Perhaps it comes from its form change, and that allows it to become surrounded in water like Aqua Jet. I can’t wait to find out!

Overall, I think that it would be an interesting battle between it and Mega Charizard X, but I would much rather see Mega Charizard Y as Alain’s opponent.

We can assume that these two will battle because Alain is still in the dark about Team Flare’s TRUE intentions with the Mega Evolution Machine.

If Alain figures out Lysandre’s true plan prior to the conclusion of his battle with Ash, we won’t be given a true winner. I would not want that to happen because this battle would be too good not to have a conclusion!

In the end, I could see Bonnie and Puni-chan helping out Mairin’s Chespin making everyone happy as a result.

However, the battle is what I really want to focus on. I’m pretty sure Alain and Ash would join forces to stop Lysandre in the end!

Then Alain would make things right with Professor Sycamore who would forgive him because he was lied to in order to assist Team Flare without even knowing it.

Who do you think would win in a battle?

That is actually a difficult question to answer because both trainers have very powerful Charizards in their arsenal.

Alain_Mega_Charizard_X

I think the biggest advantage for Alain would be that his Charizard has been in possession of its mega form for quite some time, and that means it is far more experienced in terms of how to utilize its true power.

I am not saying that Ash’s Charizard would not be able to get used to Mega Charizard Y quickly, but you have to admit that it might take a little bit of getting used to.

The battle would be intense, and I could see Ash’s Charizard on the receiving end of some powerful blows.

We know that Alain’s Mega Charizard X has the following move set:

tumblr_nln8rcRK5r1sgdowto1_500

  • Flamethrower

Alan_Mega_Charizard_X_Steel_Wing

  • Steel Wing

  • Blast Burn

tumblr_nf4ytyfBDt1rd4ymxo1_500

  • Dragon Claw

It gets STAB from Flamethrower, Dragon Claw and Blast Burn by being a Fire/Dragon type. It has the Tough Claws ability which boosts the power of physical contact moves; Dragon Claw and Steel Wing.

Ash’s Charizard has the following moves:

  • Wing Attack

  • Dragon Tail

  • Slash

I was sad to see its moves reduced to these 4 during the Unova series. Knowing Charizard, it will have new moves if it appears in Kalos.

The Drought ability as a Mega Charizard Y would only benefit it by increasing Flamethrower’s power, and if learns how to use Solarbeam. However, against a Fire/Dragon opponent…it would not be much if any use at all.

Not to mention the sunny weather would increase the power of Mega Charizard X’s Flamethrower and Blast Burn!

Dragon Tail would be its only chance at doing some super-effective damage.

Too bad it doesn’t know how to use Seismic Toss anymore…

Pikachu_volt_tackle_5

That was as disappointing as Pikachu losing Volt Tackle for Electro Ball…

I am not going to completely count Ash’s Charizard completely out based on their respective move sets. Ash has been able to come out of some pretty impossible odds before despite a type disadvantage.

It would be a good match because Ash’s Charizard trained with more powerful Charizards in the Charicific Valley in order to get stronger.

Alain’s trained by battling Mega Evolved Pokemon after Mega Evolved Pokemon! In the fourth Mega Evolution Special, it defeated 10 Mega Evolved Pokemon in a row including the Mega Houndoom owned my Elite 4 Member Malva!

tumblr_mjcgpjyq7Y1r72ht7o1_500

Not to mention that they have both had experiences battling Legendary Pokemon! Ash’s Charizard has battled the likes of Entei (an illusion), Articuno and Regice.

tumblr_inline_nly5lvrldu1qg85yo_500

Alain’s has battled against the Weather Trio in their Mega/Primal Evolution forms! Despite losing against all 3 (while Ash just barely defeated only 1 of the legends that it went up against with Charizard), it is still very powerful!

tumblr_npiuqcKDh41uo6or5o1_500

These 2 Charizards were made to battle one another! Overall, I could see Alain winning due to his Charizard having a better type combination.

However, we know that when backed into a corner; Ash will come up with an off the walk tactic in order to obtain victory.

Who do you think would win between the two? Will Ash-Greninja battle Alain’s Charizard or will it be Ash’s Charizard?
